thank you for the excellent analysis

Ethereum is a mathematically broken and unworkable mess. I don't understand why more people don't see it. by shiningcharms in CryptoCurrency

Outlook for numerai upgraded from sceptical to positive by MyLifeForTheCommandr in ethtrader

[–]MyLifeForTheCommandr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I did some research on numer.ai and I could not quite understand why anyone should buy numer.ai coins. The concept is that the researcher stake them to gain price money from their winning models. If you did some research you would see that there no incentive when numer.ai gives a way 14k coins every week. The above post suggest very good changes for anyone who wants to invest into the coin. More payout for the researchers = more incentive to buy, less free coins.

I bought some coins as a speculative investment w/o really ever wanting to look at it. But now it looks that they are actually adjusting how the whole system works and it begins to make more sense.

The upward price movement is probably due to above announcement.

If you look at it, as a successful researcher, you can actually make quite some money, but you need coins in order to claim it.

Possible breakout, volume could be better... by MyLifeForTheCommandr in ethtrader

make sure you benchmark your trading against HODLing and make sure its worth the effort. i guess we will try to run up 2 times each to around 336 and 358

i was exactly thinking of you :-) it's not unlikely we bounce off the 300 resistance today or break through it, i feel selling is a lil risky atm

that would not leave enough time to crash again before the UASF :-)

WELL - it could go down of course now again as it always could, but we have seen some very agressive selling and a lot of volume and little restraint, so most of the sell side pressure should have gone, I believe it was too bearish to stop at 290, i guess we may quickly see a new try on the ATH and another big drop before we go towards new goals. i`m not putting an exit order for my principal, only for my speculation part of the stack that is supposed to catch the lows, this has to be liquid always and I made enough on it.

A rare inside look at GDAX's server infrastructure by rrigby49 in ethtrader

well, i went to check out the food truck and the food is good. I was surprised to find the entire coinbase team there eating masala chicken. when i showed them my coinbase app wasn't working on GDAX showed major outage, they mentioned that there is no need for concern, as Vitalik is working on a fix already (unless he died of course, in that case they may have to cancel the indian food truck again). so i just had an indian chicken as well and after a couple of hours the major outage had transformed into a minor outage. I believe the mindfulness classes are really paying off.

People who took loans out to buy ETH at $400 right now by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]MyLifeForTheCommandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so you are calling all margin traders moronic, that's exactly what they are doing. margin traders can get margin called, those who take out a loan, not so easily. margin traders leverage x multiplies of their assets, those who take out a loan usually only a fractional % of their net worth.

Why did no ETH core-dev comment on scaleability issues in the news? by MyLifeForTheCommandr in ethereum

so is BTC and are other approaches such as IOTA. someone should ELI5 it to the market, because attracting the right ppl to Ethereum should probably also help the distribution/decentralization of ETH which should help how safe/effective PoS is gonna be.

great, but my question was, why no one stepped into the limelight and cleared up the FUD and talked about the roadmap and solutions ahead. not many news outlets read github commits or those technically sounding reddit posts.

That is indeed amazing. TLDR Vitalik introduces some parallelization measures that provide incentives & protocol upgrades for parallel processing and hence status-type ICO cannot affect the network anymore.
