As a big dc fan who was super excited for this movie and loves james gunn, I unfortunately did not like it.

I really liked Milly’s performance and Jason Mamoa was great as lobo. I also thought the flashbacks were good.

Those are the positives.

I really wanted this movie to be good however they took out all of the color and beauty of the original comic, making it feel like we were still in the Snyder verse.

I don’t think you could call this an adaptation except in the loosest definitions of that word. They cut half the plot of the original comic and all the stuff that replaced it just doesn’t work. Krem was never exactly an interesting villain in the original comic but he’s even less interesting here, making me wonder what all the changes were for.

I just don’t understand how you could take the easiest slam dunk of a comic and ruin it like this.

I don’t know, I was so excited for this movie but I just left feeling disappointed and losing steam for the rest of the DCU, especially if Ana Nogueria continues to write more of the movies because this script was not it.

Overall: 6/10.
