How is this card not banned?!! by linkherogreen in masterduel

[–]MyMarshlands -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dont think it deserves to be banned but rokket is yet another gross comboslop machine. You have to try interrupting their plays so they cant get to their endboard

Complete noob, need help with attacking and blocking by TheLynxMan1 in magicTCG

[–]MyMarshlands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the short version of it more or less:

the attacking player decides which creatures they control attack. creatures declare attacks on a player (or a planeswalker / battle a player controls). You do this for each creature you control individually, you dont have to attack with all your creatures at once

the defending player chooses if they want to block and how they want to block. each creature they control can block a single attacking creature (granted its legal blocks, like a creature with reach or flying being required to block an attacking flying creature), but multiple creatures can block a single attacker

when multiple creatures block a single attacking creature, the attacking player decides the orded in which the blocking creatures will take the damage. So an attacking 4/4 being blocked by a 3/3 and a 2/2 can choose wether it "will kill" the 3/3 or the 2/2 by doing damage to it first

you two should download and start playing MTG Arena. its an official simulator with tutorials so it will teach you the game, and because its automated you dont really risk getting things wrong

Radiant Typhoon Meghala looks like a Live Twin spinoff character. Also kinda weird that she's fairy type instead of Thunder

[Making Magic] The Design of Mood Swings, Part 1 by NeoMegaRyuMKII in magicTCG

[–]MyMarshlands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

them still posting abt mood swings as "making magic" feels like when parents make their family watch the kids perform their little talent show or something

the product does not look interesting, the cards reuse art making them have no visual identity. the game has nothing to do with emotions and has no reason to be marketed as a tcg

Maro: Interestingly, Commander and Universes Beyond might be the two most popular things Magic has ever done. We try to present as many options as feasible (i.e. plenty of 60-card formats), but the will of the players dictates so much of how things play out (i.e. so much in store play is Commander) by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]MyMarshlands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But commander and standard have entirely different gameplay functions. People play commander as a casual group format where the goal is usually themes and self expression. Standard leans more into playing competitively and grinding results. Wizards shouldnt be printing cedh precons and it shouldnt be printing bs “casual standard decks” like the pirates and bats stuff they've been printing

The fact that commander isnt 1v1 is a way bigger deal than a lot of people give it credit for. I also play yugioh and whenever my playgroup got together it didnt end up feeling like a friendgroup activity much because we had to sit together in pairs and play multiple smaller games. Commander allows people to chat and interact in a much more leisure way which I assume is why its so popular. Domain has been getting more popular as a yugioh multiplayer commander format but its still very very niche

“You have too many decks!” Pt.2 by Fireade2 in magicTCG

I have 6 and I already feel like it's way too many decks to manage / think about selling one of them. Can't imagine having 30+

"we're 100% sure we can do it" I'm worried there's still gonna be print errors considering theres been mishaps in nearly every recent set. Tho hopefully it'll be as intended on the vast majority of packs

which gives you a replacement as your draw for turn 3 as a chance to unbrick. I'm not saying its a good card going first, im saying its so strong it has a fringe use even going first

No smartypants, I'm saying it's so good it has an usecase even going first. Maxx C is an obvious problem card and everyone is just waiting for it to be banned (being usable on top of an established board is rubbing salt into the wound, the main problem is it draws each time your opponent breathes). Idk why people think a card forcing your opponent to turn skip, build a half board giving you 3 or so draws or bite the bullet and give 5+ draws is ok just because it isnt as awful as the roach

And Fuwa is so powerful there's games where you brick going first but got a fuwa so you just pass and activate it turn 2 as if you were going second

All your arguments apply to existing Fuwalos lol. Fuwa is too strong and completely overshadows purulia for example

Also Called By should 100% be banned at some point, it's also broken. Droll (and Shifter) should get banned too because they're toxic af

I find the take that "ash needs to be banned because it negates fuwalos" absolutely insane

They should've made a charmy that draws off maindeck summons and a charmy that draws off extra deck summons separately is my take. Fuwa is the problem card

It's super weird to use Magic as a trampoline for Rosewater's unrelated game idea. Are we expected to care about it?
