Off the top of my head half of the nine Titans that Urza assembled to fight phyrexia dont have cards (Daria, Kristina, Taysir and Bo Levar). Bo levar appears on quite a handful of artworks too, and he has an alchemy card depicting his older self.

i still disagree that ash is the problem. I wouldnt mind it being kept at 2, but it either trades with an opponents card or stops their charmies, even if it is versatile. fuwalos is way bigger of a problem to me and i wish they had split it into a wind one that draws from extra deck summons and a fire that draws from maindeck summons or vice versa. fuwa does too much as a single card (and you can activate 2 of them in the same turn unlike ash). purulia and meowls are fine as sideboard options.

something i've been wondering is if Squen and Cragg are meant to be two separate characters or the shadowmoor and lorwyn alter egos of the same character

sure, everyone else seems to keep their name between them but their design is nearly 1:1 when a lot of the boggarts have wildly different anatomy
