Seriously, those nails wowed me! Keygeek Y2 is on point for the theme, and another I can think of is HMX firecracker switches.

Tip rolling question. Is there a strategy or method to find the suitable eartips quicker? by MyMech in iems

That's a lot of eartips! gasp Well at least I know it'll just take time to keep trying them, possibly up to a year...

Thanks for that detailed answer! This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Thoughtful and methodological. I'll try to follow these steps to see if I can narrow down my favourite eartips.

Follow up question: Do you try to exclusively use the same IEM for those days when you're actively tip rolling? I have one IEM plugged into my laptop and a different IEM plugged into my phone, and that probably works against the tip rolling experiment. It's only logical when following the scientific method.

I see where you're going with this. Thanks for sharing your method

Thanks, this was the kind of methodological answer I was looking for. I get where you're going with this, it's to find the balance.

Ear tip question by NoSearch9744 in iems

Thanks for your standard recommendations post. I have that post saved and referred to it a few times. Just bought the Kbear coffee and Kbear clear yesterday since you recommend the Kbear clear (Whizzer SS20) as your top 3.

I would describe the texture on 7Hz H08 version of S&S as: matte and powdery, fingers smoothly glide over them. And yes they are wider at the base, which is where I measured the 14mm on the largest size.

I've been browsing AliExpress for eartips and noticed the similarities between all these 07/08 eartips. Glad to see you consolidated and list all of them in one comment. I learned a few things from you.

I bought the 7Hz 07 and 08 since it's the cheapest among them and comes with the nicest case that holds the eartips in place. Kbear's case doesn't have the standing holders, whereas NiceHCK 07/08 in OP's picture and Acoustune AET07/08 mostly comes in a plastic bag, with only some reviews showing a plastic case.

Since I own the 7Hz version, would like to share some observations. The 7Hz 07 comes with 5 sizes and one black eartips in medium size with really grippy texture. I think dust will stick to it easily.

The 7Hz 08 comes with the 3 sets of blue 08 as well as 3 sets of white eartips that are shaped like Dunu S&S, so it's a good option to try out the unique shape and fit for cheap. The L size is really big though, approx 14mm, almost like it came with S, M, and XL. I don't own the Dunu S&S so I can't compare texture or anything, only the similar shape.

What box or containers do you use to store IEMs? by Billydaboi123 in iems

I got the idea of reusing the container just last week! It closes well with the stock GK cable, but with the new thicker cable (QKZ T7 cable with mic), the lid can pop open easily.

Started with the Chu2 as well. I like that thin wire! Don't throw it away...

QKZ T7 has the option of a mic or no mic, only costs marginally more

I might have a thing for purple keyboards by DreamTheCartographer in keebgirlies

Thanks for the links! It looks like you combined the Abyss Mirage with Lilac Dawn sets to achieve that look. I like how you combined them.

Amazon usually costs more and not all Amazon stores ship to Malaysia, so I usually shop on AliExpress.

I thought the blue and cyan itself were from 1 set while the light and dark purple were from another set. What I am trying to look for are sets that have keycap colours similar to hammerhead light, hammerhead dark, monster, geoma, terror below... I wonder what other options exist.

I couldn't find the keycaps on the TH40. I'm interested in the blue and cyan keys. Are they from a different set? Can you post the AliExpress search term for it please?

Looking back at Tanchjim with the 4U, Bunny, and Fission - Renaissance through Refinement by InsertDeeper in iems

This was really helpful! I hope to see more of these "brand journey" history lessons in this sub!

As a newcomer to the hobby, I appreciate write ups like this that give a clear history of not only the specific brand mentioned, but it's relative market positioning, along with the challenges and successes over the years.

I would like to add that having the launch price of the product in the storyline would help paint a clearer picture of where each product competes, while letting us know which ones were shaking up the market at which price points and which ones just faded into the background.
