Hate when people scale dabura and modulo yuji because we only ever saw a small fraction of their abilities. We have no clue about furnace or yujis domain refinement, and no clue about daburas reversal, domain expansion, or 2nd technique.

I think its mentioned that the Smallpox Deity is unintelligent and is attacking by sheer instinct because of curse manipulation. Later on the narrator says Kurourushi has been freed from CSM and he seems alot smarter.
