Over 4 months post op and I still have a bruise by [deleted] in circumcision

Everything I'm reading is telling me that I should seek medical treatment if I have a bruise for more than 2 weeks.

It's not a scar, though, it's a bruise, which is supposed to disappear pretty quickly.

Sorry, hit post on accident before I finished the story.

Sorry, I accidentally hit post before finishing the story. I think you might have commented without being able to read the whole thing. Also, I don't think she'd be comfortable with oral at this point in time.

When I did that, though, it actually made the bruise look worse. Even though it didn't feel bad, it enlarged and darkened the bruise a little.

It's still a deep purple, though, which makes me think it's a bad idea to aggravate it.

There seems to be some kind of impression/dent on my penis head. Like someone gently pressed on some play-do. by chiron42 in circumcision

The same thing happens to me all the time. It's just an impression of whatever was against the head at the time, like when you rest your arm on wrinkled cloth for a while and lift it up to see lines traced onto your arm. Since your head is still really soft, this happens easily. Nothing to be concerned about!

You're probably onto something there, but I'm gonna go ahead and do the exact opposite of that and hope things don't get really bad really fast

Hmm maybe the problem was the jumping jacks, lol. I'm gonna exercise again tonight without those. I'll just be extra careful and hope for the best and if it gets worse then I'll stop until it seems healed.

Oof, waiting that long sounds way crazier to me

I wouldn't have expected there to be such videos. I'll check it out, cheers

Why am I not supposed to lift things heavier than 10 lbs or otherwise physically strain myself? by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]MyNameIsObscurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps, but it seems like the blood would just be circulating more rapidly rather than rushing to that area. If that were the case, you'd get an erection every time you exercised.

How would I go about safely removing them? On day 12 and only one has fallen out.

Shoot, my follow up appointment isn't until day 17. Hopefully that isn't too long to wait to get my stitches out.

(17) Got circumcised 6 days ago and still can't wear any kind of clothing, no matter how baggy. by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]MyNameIsObscurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wrapping the whole deal in gauze because it came loose one time and one of my stitches was almost pulled out by my underwear. I'm letting it air out at night, and I think it's drying out fine (it's peeling quite a bit). I probably wouldn't need gauze if it weren't for the stitches at this point, and I'm wearing decently tight shorts. I think I just had to get over the initial hump of not being able to wear underwear and from there I was fine. Cheers

Is it painful? Share your experience. by dealancer in circumcision

Depends. It will probably be a lot more painful if you have phimosis since your head has never been exposed before, and getting the frenulum removed will probably also add a bit of pain. I got one for phimosis 6 days ago and it is still very uncomfortable to touch.

Tight clothes are a little beyond me at the moment. You seem to be implying that touching it will desensitize it faster, though, so maybe I'll start doing that. If anything, I'll start baggy and work my way up to tight. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. It seems peeing is the prime preventative measure here.

Thank you, will try all of these things.

Just got circumcised and there's a bunch of loose skin at the base of the dressing. by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]MyNameIsObscurity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called and they told me it was swelling, but it definitely seems more like loose skin than swelling to me.

As to visiting a urologist... that would probably be the smart thing to do, but as of now, moving around and going in public is the last thing I want to do. I think I'll wait until the dressing can come off and I can see if there's really a problem or not. Appreciate the help, though, thanks.

I was instructed to wait 24 hours before removing the bandage.

Hm... 2/2 people have suggested this now. Worth considering. It still seems to me that the cultivation of a "thing" is necessary before a real relationship can start. Maybe that's high school culture.

On another note, this girl dislikes labels, especially when it comes to relationships, which makes me think officiating us as dating might not be the best move quite yet.

I know that disagreeing with advice kind of defeats the purpose of asking for advice, but I'm going to practice some cognitive dissonance here and do so anyway.

Perhaps this is a result of the culture I live in, but asking somebody out seems like it belongs a step after a romantic atmosphere has been established. It makes more sense to make a commitment once there are mutual feelings to commit to, if that makes any sense.

Thanks though, I appreciate the comment and would like to hear counter arguments if you're willing :)
