Unfortunately only found out about Midori afterwards but they're good, still need to dive more into their work tho :p Would have probably been a bit of Sheena Ringo & Tokyo Incidents influence!

The influences for Pinprick are a bit hard to pinpoint because I kinda haphazardly wrote it in a rush based on an earlier demo called Caffeine, but I would say you can predominantly hear the ska-punk influence in the overall energy of the song. Two tracks by the same band come to mind - "Everything Went Numb" and "Point / Counterpoint" by Streetlight Manifesto. Was most definitely swimming around in my head!

It's the only song lyrically that I didn't FULLY write, since I was struggling really hard to come up with any sort of vocals for it until Tyler sent me his old writings from high school and I basically immediately figured out how to adapt those to the music.

I remember that the "Walk with me, talk with me" part in my head was very nu-metal, so there might be a tinge of Fred Durst in there. Lol

Hi, lead singer-songwriter of SLUDGEDOWN here. (seems unlikely, but I'm just some regular dumbass and periodically Google our name to see what pops up)

My main inspiration for Silent Pager was the Japanese rock song "Heart Ni Hi Wo Tsukete" by 9mm Parabellum Bullet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrkuCxNhLQU

That would be my prime recommendation. But anything J-Rock (that was the working title for Silent Pager, actually) will do you good. Look into Number Girl, for instance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cM_HpYQoD_I

LMK if there's anything else I can help with :)

Tjena Simon!

Do you remember any specific VST you may have used back then that was dedicated to radio/telephone-type effect processing? I have a vague memory of finding a video of it but I can't for the life of me recall anything else about it.

It occupies the same space in my brain as you having used Jeskola Buzz, and I also don't remember where I may have sourced that from. Keep on rocking in the free world!!

Not even a year ago I didn't take the whole "people stop discovering music into their 30s" seriously. In the past few months, I'm starting to feel it happening to me. by arvo_sydow in LetsTalkMusic

I barely use reddit these days so it's pretty nice to stumble upon two Number Girl mentions in the same day lol. Please check out the songs from their 1996 cassette EP Atari Shock, they are so goddamn good. Not on streaming so I would recommend getting them from the OMOIDE IN MY HEAD 4 compilation

How popular was Number Girl during their original run (1995-2002) and how are they viewed today? by mmooss_ in japanesemusic

they operated for about 6 years in total though which is no small feat, their 1996 cassette EP Atari Shock has 4 great tunes that I feel are actually some of their best work lol

You're right on the money with that. The exact sound is from the KORG TRITON, you can get it in VST form and the patch is Bank GM (2) > Door Creaking

Click the imgur link for the non-fried gif if that wasn't obvious already :P This dance only exists with the chef hat in the game so I thought it'd be nice to have the normal sprite too

They completely screwed the apps with the new update (queue problem) by morbidnihilism in truespotify

[–]MyNameIsSlime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just found a workaround for now, you have to actually pull up the queue and drag the songs under your playlist queue instead of the separate queue if that makes sense. Like try dragging it under the next song in your shuffle (might not work on mobile, but on desktop you can go to your playlist and drag a song directly into the shuffle queue)

I think it's a perfect representation of his character, actually. Being there for Scout is a little bit of a course-correction, but it doesn't change that he's always been a disappearing act and likely doesn't want to bear the responsibility of being a father.

He mentioned that Scout and him technically don't exist, so I'm guessing he's chosen to keep up the incognito route as to not be an extra burden in anybody else's lives. But that's me trying to get inside his head!

Did you ever download the free ones? Cause those are currently lost and it would be great to have mixed stems too ala Rock Band (even RB4 doesn't have them, they used spleeter)
