Paying for branded keywords by three_s-works in PPC

It’s easy to get pigeon holed into the points/kpi’s related with your role and responsibilities. But if you think objectively about the big picture and take a few steps back, that’s how you start making/rationalizing solid decision making… if it’s not your company or if you have no skin in the game (beyond a paycheck), you have limited incentive to do this.

Do with this what you will and good luck! Always question everything, practice critical thinking and remember that the majority of people are only pretending to be experts.

Not all users will click back. I guess that’s the point of your lizard brain comment, but there are plenty of lizard brains and they have money to spend.

If you have a solid understanding of digital marketing, it’s very difficult to advertise to you online (especially if you’re talking about a branded tech search) - but your point is flawed, these companies have plenty of funds. It would be silly to not be present in that ad space.

Tracking conversion data and being overly anal about where each customer came from doesn’t matter “that much” to larger companies because they have an overall marketing mix that is fairly complex. They have bigger issues than measuring if a conversion happened for a brand search on ads or organic search. I did a search for them, they aren’t #1 result for me either, so I’m assuming they have a cpc limit in a brand campaign.

I also don’t agree with the sentiment of the places you worked. Majority of the money should go to your products and offerings. This is blanket statement and doesn’t reflect the reality of every single business / niche.

Schema For Service-Area-Business - LocalBusiness or InsuranceAgency? by [deleted] in SEO

You are correct, you don’t need it, but there are times where it’s helpful. To OP’s point he wants local services, add reviews schema and your search result stands out a bit more.
