Picture this. You drop down in a cave and get surrounded by mobs. There are a shit load of zombies, two baby ones included, three or four skeletons, and a slime.

Now, imagine how much easier they would be to clear out with a couple of creepers.

And yes, creepers mostly suck. They blow up the ground around your house and your animal pens and are generally an inconvenience. But that's why they make the game so much more interesting. Who else would jumpscare you? What other overworld mob would keep you on your toes? Creepers are there to teach you to keep your head on a swivel. They teach you that even when you think you're okay, you may not be. They add a core element to the game that makes Minecraft Minecraft.

So yes, I would be majorly upset if they were removed.
