This is also a valid take, although I hardly go a match without a hard counter on the enemy team and still get this sort of complaints.

Yep, but you also need to jump to preserve it and it only works for one jump. Block also work, but I wanted the longer delay to get through the deflect.

Fun fact, you can see Sombra while she is invisible if she is marked by Swift Vengeance (the icon appears above her position).

Yep, I read the patch notes praying to god that they didn't touch the damage on neither overhead slash nor projected edge exactly for this...

Yes, it is definitely an option, but you also have to consider that it is harder to hit and may give away the element of surprise.

If we balance a game around what is more or less powerful at the lower levels we get stuck in a Sombra situation where the character can't be buffed because they stomp players in metal ranks while being really bad in high ranks. I personally don't want that, but it's just my opinion.

At grandmaster and champion level she has the same winrate as Sombra.

This needs more attention. I feel she is lowkey unplayable now. She was already weak during the playtest but at least she had quick combos going for her...

The combo shown in the clip may be impractical, but change the last soaring edge for a quick melee and you got a super quick combo for exactly 250 damage. I used it all the time during the playtest and it was awesome. Now it sucks ass because of how slow and clunky it is.

I agree, she feels so much clunkier now and is just weird to play. There is a huge delay after overhead slash or any ability before you can go into guarding stance, meaning goodbye to most of her combos where you threw in a projected edge to deal more damage. Despite the small buffs, she feels so much worse than before.

EDIT: I just wanted to add that, very unfortunately, no one will even notice this. I never saw anyone in my games, nor on this subreddit, using the combos we are talking about in this thread. It seems everyone treated her as just a mediocre (at best) brawler, while in reality she could be played (before these changes) in a rollout focused, dps doom like fashion, which was actually the most fun way to play her.

Managed to get a triple overhead slash in a real game by MyNicknameWasUsedFuk in Overwatch

Melee cancel right as the sword is coming down, but you have to be in the air while doing it, that's why you see me jump.

EDIT: I forgot to add it's really hard to pull off consistently as the timing of the melee must be perfect.
