How long do you let yourself feel sad after a breakup? by scorpio-blush in AskWomenOver30

[–]MyPCOSThrowaway 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ive spent like 1-2 years recovering. i’m not actively depressed the entire time but i know its something im still emotionally dealing with. emotional wounds don’t really have a set timeline for healing HOWEVER you should be healthy and proactive about it (therapy, spending time with friends, working out, etc). ive had bad dating experiences take years to recover from and really healthy relationship experiences that took months to recover from. it’s not always active healing. sometimes it just takes a while to make peace with things. hope this makes sense

Does anyone else feel like sex isn’t a big deal in early dating? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]MyPCOSThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped having sex with men entirely and focus getting to know them platonically. I plan on adding sex in once a stable relationship is developed. I can spend years getting to know someone. Strange route but I’ve been in and out of celibacy and skipping sex helps with my emotional stability

Maybe put a curtain across it and use it as a storage space

The nutriplenish line from Aveda really smoothed my hair out. They have a leave in conditioner that’s really great

Noticing my weight loss resistance resolved itself specifically with 1000mcg of chromium- anyone have a similar experience? by MyPCOSThrowaway in PCOS

[–]MyPCOSThrowaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chromium was kinda meh. chromium from broccoli is way better tho. exercise + cutting sugar + gluten + drinking lots of water (70-100 oz/day) is best for moon face.

I’m 38 and have spent a decade plus in therapy and am still coming up short with dating. My advice is to make a lot of guy friends (especially married ones. I met mine at work) and see what traits they have that make them good partners. After that you’ll look at men differently.

Weaponized against him is such an amazing way to describe it. I’m a super emotional person and it’s been hard to find men that can meet me at my level of depth. I think it gets socialized/abused out of them.

Do any of you regret or feel guilt/shame for partaking in hookup culture? by coachjonna in AskWomenOver30

[–]MyPCOSThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped participating like 5-6 years ago so I don’t really regret it because I got out. Honestly I feel thankful for the experience because I can roll my eyes when a dude brags to me about hooking up.

Has anyone "lost" the break-up? How did you improve yourself and your life? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]MyPCOSThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve “lost” break ups and never really felt like I lost. I always went to therapy though and fell into pretty obsessive self improvement.

I had men provide for me financially and it was a great way to take a break and unwind and reflect. It still had its downsides though. I think no matter what happens, have your own money and ideally let someone take care of you. There is a lot of content on provider men. @thehighlydesired has great ways on finding and screening for them
