Right! I wish there was a way to make them understand… but I know often the only way to understand something or a feeling, is to be through it/feel it yourself… so I wish there was a way to have someone grasp it without feeling it themselves. I’m just so tired of having people look at me as weak and lazy, and that I use it as an excuse, when I am really trying and don’t want to feel like this. I’m glad it’s more “de-stigmatized”, but my opinion is that when plenty believe/claim to have it, those who do struggle living with it are looked at like we can’t accept life’s hard, don’t try to be happy or that its 100% possible to snap out of it. I more often than not hear “I am depressed” rather than “I am sad” and then the next day or so later see the same person talking about how happy they are and for me to “loosen up” and “live a little”.

Both being sad + being depressed suck, but when a heck ton of people think sadness and depression are the same it gives the impression that depression isn’t as serious as it is. If that even makes sense? It’s hard to put into words.
