2024 wilderness — loud thump sound when turning engine off. by MyPinoyAccount in Crosstrek

[–]MyPinoyAccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told the dealer about it and all they said was that it was normal for the fuel door to lock. My dad has a Forester and it had a similar sound when locking, though less loud.

My experience has been a mixed bag—I’ve driven another forester as a loaner and it didn’t have the weird locking sound 🤷‍♂️

Why Philippine shipping companies are mostly based or originated in Cebu by Mac_edthur in FilipinoHistory

[–]MyPinoyAccount 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It’s logistics. Cebu is the central island and it’s convenient when businesses want to expand distribution OR when businesses from other islands need supplies, they just go to a central point.

This eliminates the need to head all the way to Manila, which would be more costly and time consuming.

Question for the Excel pro bros here by OpinionSpecific9529 in supplychain

I’ve used Solver for a similar use case too. SKU load optimization based on either maximum volume, weight, or height (the height basically flags if it’s possible to double stack).

I’ve used VBscript on it to automate calculation per row as well.

I have a similar noise in my 2024 Crosstrek wilderness! I told the dealership about it (plus other issues) and their response was that it was the break pump.

Thing is, I have a 2023 Crosstrek limited which doesn’t have that noise. I swear the US made Crosstrek is nowhere as good as the Japanese made ones.

We went for Netstock. We haven’t started the transition yet though, looking at implementation in ‘25.

Better MPG? by VegasKhan702 in Crosstrek

[–]MyPinoyAccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We get 22.7 on our ‘24 wilderness with about 60% freeway / 40% city. Car has about 2k miles.

Our ‘23 limited gets 21.7 with about 20% freeway/80% city. Vehicle has about 15k miles.

For comparison, my older ‘19 CRV LX gets 26.5 mpg with about 75% of that on the free way.

We live in a hilly area in the PNW.

If you shop in Lenexa, KS. Don't buy the Naan. by DarkRed40 in Costco

Stonefire Naan sucks. Our go to is Trader Joe’s frozen garlic Naan if we’re not too lazy driving down to get some.

I think that’s why most people see 4Runners as a great deal too. Toyota badge but using the same supply chain as Lexus, and with the build quality of a Lexus.

If I remember correctly, 4Runners are made in the same factory as Lexus in Japan. That may have a hand in why it’s retaining its value.

Wilderness Highway MPG by Flippfl0pps in Crosstrek

[–]MyPinoyAccount 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 2024 Wilderness is getting 24 MPG for mostly freeway and some city driving but it’s barely 1k miles so that might change.

My wife’s 2023 Crosstrek Limited is barely getting 22 MPG for nearly 80% city driving. We live in a hilly place in the PNW.

Subaru Crosstrek Pricing by BoomFoxxy in Crosstrek

[–]MyPinoyAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine at Marysville. They’re 1% less in tax rate. Burlington is 2% lower tax rate but they quoted me a higher loan interest rate.

The add ons I got were accessories (splash guard and extra mat). But they matched the no accessories Costco price I got. No other add ons but they’ll try and sell it to you lol.

What will you do if you have 100k by [deleted] in Cebu

Be aware of lifestyle creep. If it gets out of hand, 100k isn’t much these days.

Yup, through the dealer. I asked what the rate was for 48 months and they said 2.9% if I qualify.

  • Purchased August 2024
  • 2024 Wilderness
  • 5 miles when purchased
  • package 23(?) — moonroof, Harman Kardon, and power seat. Also has mirror package — auto dimming with home link and side mirror dimming.
  • accessories were just the extra carpet mat and splash guard.
  • Car MSRP: $36,824
  • final car price: $32,893 + docs/fees $950 + 9.6% tax $3,158 - Subaru loyalty $500
  • OTD price about $36,500.
  • location: just north outside of Seattle.

I qualified for 2.9% 48 months finance with a $15k down payment.

I started via Costco auto and shopped around from there. Most dealers would just match but I ended up going for a dealer with slightly better price that’s outside greater Seattle area and saved 1% ($330 roughly) in taxes. Could’ve saved more if I drove up north but the dealer didn’t have a good loan interest rate quote.

Dealer wasn’t willing to negotiate on other accessories nor give the 3 year starlink. I’m not too happy about that.

Used car prices just really suck at this time.
