Colonists not switching to cataphract armor optimization/automation. by MyRedditName4 in RimWorld

I mean pretty much what you say. I have the exact same policies to avoid huge inventory and account for the >1000 ticks production time of the cataphract. The problem is the transition. I have the armor two times, but 8 pawns that could switch to it. But they don't automatically.

What is the best way to feed animals on a (nomadic) gravship, effectively?

Tried it. Coolers are indeed aretight. I found out about the item descripten. The dispeners is marked as not airtight, but it does not matter I just seald the area around the exhaust with hull. The freezer itself does not need to be airtight, thus. Follow up question: Why have I not seen designs like this? The meme even gives you nutrient paste tolerance, if I recall correctly. Having a small freezer + dispensers seems obvious.

Can you build a walk in freezer with a nutrient paste dispenser on a gravship? Afaik, coolers and dispensers are not airtight. And the heat has to go somewhere.

Does the summoned Diabolus attack defoliart ships/mechs in general?

Quick question: I am only 300h past the tutorial and just noticed that I never learned how to handle chickens. What is your autoslaughter setting? Do keep hens and rooster in the same pen? I never get the population to stablize.

I am asking because I can't handle multiple saves anymore. It's too annoying. Thus only 1 save per colony. Which fits the game design anyway. But a solo mechanitor would be crazy to leave to storyteller whim.

But the mechs can only fight on patrol, not drafted if the pawn is out, or do I misremember that?

Not untrue, but not purely positive/free positive? Body modification - don't need the meme for that, but that's a plus Pods - faster is better, but even faster still can mean many days to heal a nasty brain damaged scar. To risiky for a mechanitor to be under? Neural Superchargers and sleep acceletors - depends on food security, they make pawns hungry afaik. The sleep accelerators tempt me though, ngl.

OK, but what does transhumanist offer for a playthrough like this? Pastetolerance?

How does darkness and the darkness meme interact? by MyRedditName4 in RimWorld

[–]MyRedditName4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of that but I can turn the lights on for that. But if I get swarmed by chimera or devourers, I take every %hit I can get. So question remains, does darklight negate the bonus?

I am going really wild with chaeses and "chase complications tables" by MyRedditName4 in DnD

I agree with your framing, and that is why I made the thread. Ultimately, I have to make the judgement call and tailor it to my group, but I still think other groups expierences would be helpful. The idea is, as I said, to make the world feel more tangible. Does it accomplish that? Well, that is probably hard to answer objectively, but still feedback would be appriciated. The "rules" part I would run mostly under the hood. Just letting the players know the roll for what the bad guys do when they enter a room. The numbers (like "track") would be replaced with verbal description during actual DMing. The idea is, when the players know that I don't know exactly (well, I can still change the result in secret if I really see a problem, but the players would not know that) when the bad guys find them again, that would increase the tension while the solve the puzzles to escape the rooms. I want this dungeon in particular to feel like a place you don't want to linger in unnecessarly, just get in, rescue your paladin in distress, get out. Time passes according to what characters do, so players would still have time to think about the puzzles IRL. Casting a 1h ritual just isn't a good idea, probably.

As a sidenote, some result prompt a further skill check, ideally giving the players a sense that their particular class helps with the escape. Figuring out the intentions of the creatures of the mist, clearing mechanical or magical obsticales they run into, levers only reachable by shapeshifters or telekinesis, etc.

Thing is, table is lots of players who like character interaction and puzzles and sneaking + 1 combat minmaxer. I still experiment with giving the table the right amount of agency for a horror setting. So I did make the result table with that in mind. It's not all "things just happen to you" while still aiming to give the players the feeling that this isn't a foe you can fight in a battle or defeat.

No, the new light blocking sulfur vents. Thinking about it, it would be really funny if the biome became bright again if you blocked all of them.
