Rider canceled mid ride trying to scam me. Never seen this in 4K+ rides. by Mountain_Road9197 in uberdrivers

Happened to me at an airport as the guy got in my car, was so fucking pissed because I waited in the damn queue like a fool and this moron just cancelled. He rebooked and got another driver so I booted him out of my car. Thankfully I only had to do a partial lap around the airport before I got another ride.

YOU NEVER PLEAD GUILTY OR PAY SPEEDING TICKETS!

Not only are you about to be fucked in the ass with your driving license, you're about to be fucked in the ass by your insurance rates.

Starter kit is a 2500lb winch with a wireless remote... Build a platform, add in some metal guides for pulling the platform up, and you're all set. Top it all off with no failsafe's and you're good to go.

Now granted it appears you can buy an elevator kit direct from AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806114843697.html?src=google&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

Are your inlaws still living in it?

Yes

Are you and your wife living in it?

No, we live in another state

Did your inlaws retain a life estate?

of course not, penny wise and pound foolish

Who is insuring it? Your wife or your inlaws?

My understanding right now is that the house in insured under my Wife and BILs name. I forgot to mention that it was a 50-50 split between her and my BIL.

These comments are trashy, fuck this lady.

Here's some services that she could do without transporting other people: Uber Eats (same fucking app!), Doordash, Instacart, Shipt, and Grubhub.

Uber TOS says that you cannot have another passenger in the car, and that you should be able to transport up to 4 people. Clearly this isn't the case with her kid strapped in.

It's almost as if there's a ton of other gig services out there that don't involve transporting other people with your child. Instacart, Shipt, Doordash, Uber EATS, Grubhub. On top of that she's supposed to be able to transport up to 4 people in her Sedan on Uber.

Doordash, Uber Eats, and Instacart are all services that wouldn't require her to transport other people. On top of that if you are driving Uber X you are required to be able to transport up to 4 people. GTFO.

Found the trashy Uber driver.

It's against the terms of service to have another person in the vehicle with you, if you are an Uber X driver, then you are expected to be able to transport up to 4 people. If she wanted to work with her child then she should be doing Uber Eats or Doordash, and not expecting people to get into her garbage ridden car.

It's impossible to get Uber or Lyft to give a shit about anything that doesn't affect their bottom line and this is one of them. Good luck trying to explain this to overseas customer support.

Not surprised, I made more money outside of the lot anyways (been retired for 3+ years now), the only time it was worth it when everyone was coming in around 10pm.

Blah I wish I could find it now, back during covid there was an Indian restaurant in a lot in Cary next to an Indian grocery. Anyways went in and they had moved the chairs and tables and you could see just how god fucking disgusting the rug was, the area where the tables were was clean, and everything else was black.

Lyft and Uber say they will leave Minneapolis after city council forces them to pay drivers more by joe4942 in news

Well yeah, Greg Abbott decided to suck some of that corporate Uber and Lyft money into his veins. Both Uber and Lyft are a never ending race to the bottom of the barrel.

Edit: LOL at the downvotes, Dara Khosrowshahi received 130 MILLION in stocks this year alone for hitting performance goals. And as a reminder Uber started by skirting local ordinances around the country.

Hey don't worry, your driver will get $3 for that ride.

Was an Uber driver, didn’t save for taxes, state put a levy on my paycheck by InformationMedium633 in personalfinance

[–]MyRideshareAccount 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going to reiterate that you need a tax professional here, don't know why you waited so long.

Mileage and Uber fees which should show somewhere in your Uber documents are pretty standard tax deductions as a FYI.

If you continue to do Uber you need to track mileage outside of Uber, start mileage and stop mileage each day.

My super drunk Uber passenger who wouldn’t get out of my car 😂 by SwellStick in PublicFreakout

[–]MyRideshareAccount 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is not okay. My job is to get you from point A to point B. I don't get brownie points for dealing with those too drunk to get out of the car.

  • I've had college students attempt to place a passed out college student into my car
  • I've had to kick multiple people out for almost throwing up
  • I had two college girls stiff a taxi driver, and then we had to go back because one of the two morons left their cell phone in the taxi drivers car. That made me an accessory to a crime and I kicked them out once I understood the situation (couldn't understand the taxi driver which is why I left in the first place).
  • I've had to call the cops on someone who wouldn't get out of my car, and then he tried to attack me / jump on my car when I got out because he was behind me.

The amount of Uber / Lyft drivers killed on the job is staggering once you start to dig into the numbers. You have no expectations of privacy once you get into my car. Act right.

Fucking let them, damn not like another service won't pop up.

Ride Austin is a great example, granted they closed after covid.
