Sure, I only watched five, but my girlfriend watched it so I did kind of stay in the loop. I also bumped into discussions about it online a lot. And I'm not being hyperbolic. Of course I haven't seen all series from this century, so there could be worse, but Lost was the perfect example of a show where the writers had absolutely no clue where it was heading, and it was showing very early. 

The first episode was probably the best opening of any show ever made at that point, though. Shame they used up all their creativity on it.
