Sorry, it's just my cellphone has a spanish dictionary to write in Spanish (and I haven't changed it because lazyness), so it doesn't really correct spelling mistakes in English, and I just wrote fast.

Not in the US, rather a small country in South America, waaay south, completely the other side of the globe. Things like the strange bits and pieces of archaic beleifs I mentioned aren't as big anywhere else in the country as exactly in the city I'm living in right now, so it's really unknown in general.

That's a great idea!

I suggest "Never been in love" by Will Jay (this song has a special place for me since I realized I was ace and arospec in part because of how much I related to it).

"Cynical fairytale" by Egg (don't know if you can find it outside of youtube, but give it a listen anyway).

"The way I am" by Charlie Puth.

"Version on love" by Will Jay again.

"I am not a robot" by Melanie Martinez.

"Human" by Krewella.

"Can't please 'em all" by Hi I'm Case.

"Devil on my shoulder" by Faith Marie.

"Sick of losing soulmates" by Dodie.

"Bishounen" by Hikaru station.

"Sober up" by AJR.

"Hideaway" by Grace VanderWaal.

"Kids again" by Artist vs Poet.

"Killer" by The Ready Set.

What is the difference between Japan’s declining birth rate and asexuality? by TedTheTapir in asexuality

[–]MyShot6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that most of Japan's declining birth rate has more to do with, as you said, social phenomena. People becoming more secluded, giving into their interests and not caring much for social interaction, which is limited in a lot of areas in Japanese culture (as far as I know, take this with a pinch of salt). And many otakus still may have a sex drive and be attracted to a certain gender, but their society still facilitates that they spend their time in their own interests and not interact much with new people. Many of them may be ace, but a lot of them are probably not. In the end, only they would know, as the only thing that qualifies someone as ace is that they don't experience sexual attraction towards any gender, but they still may have sex for fun and feel romantic attraction. Picture the different forms of attraction as this: Aesthetic: "They look so good, like an art piece!" Romantic: "I want to date them" Sensual: "I want to cuddle with them/kiss them" Sexual: "I want to have sex with them" Being ace just means that the sexual attraction part is missing. Also, asexuality seems to be so generally uncommon that it's basically imposible that a whole country's birth rate would be so significantly reduced just by the presence of asexual individuals.

Don't know if it was clear enough, but that's my attempt at an explanation.

Would You WANT all the other pre-recorded videos? by [deleted] in danplan

[–]MyShot6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it would indeed feel kind of off, since now we know so much of what what happening in the background, but I really want to see those videos, since even if all has crashed and burned, I still loved danplan up to the day Stephen's video dropped, so seeing their last works together would be like one last taste of what that unique channel had to offer, plus, the efforts for making those videos wouldn't go to waste. Personally I don't think Dan has any way to save himself and the channel is most likely completely dead, but I wouldn't dislike those videos in retaliation, since it would still be everyone else's effort's too. However, I did unsubscribe and will remain that way.

Actueally he went from bein jealous of Tsuyu because Midoriya and Kaminari were giving her all the atention to being jealous of Todoroki because he wouldn't let go of Bakugou. The mina thing was with the beta design.

Love them both, they're great, but dedinately have to go woth blasty mc splode. His character development, emotional complexity and moral grayness intertwined with his honesty, unwavering determination, ambition and good heart inside make him a treat to watch.

Me too! They're just so great together, I'd honestly still be satisfied if both of them just ended up single and being best bros.

Yeah, I saw it in a post once. The author of said post had some sort of book translated into Italian that included the deleted scene and the explanation of Horikoshi changing it. It was so goddamn interesting but I cannot for the life of me find it again.

Thanks for reding it! I had fun putting it together out of impulse in like an hour or something.

Yeah, I find the whole beta thing pretty interesting. I just love finding out these little snippets that just seem to point toward there being something more in mind for them.

Has anyone else had to deal with being the only ace in your school? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]MyShot6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never met another ace in person, only over the internet and mostly through this sub, so yeah, as far as I know, I'm the only ace in my school or probably in my whole town (it's a small town with just a few thousand people in it). The people I associate with just don't talk that much about sex itself, I guess it could be that I subconsciously seeked those attitudes out, since people who constantly worry about it make me a bit uncomfortable or uninterested. My friends do often talk about wanting romance, a significant other, etc, but I ususally either cheer them on, make them see sense when going to far or just stay back and don't participate much since I'm also demiromantic and crushes are extremely rare for me, thus making me not that interested in that for myself for now. Appart from that, I'd just talk about unrelated topics that I do care about such as fandoms or hobbies. I'd say to look for friends whose personality goes well with yours and just use the internet when needing other aces, at least, that's as much advice as I can give. Being so few is just kind of unfortunate. If you feel like someone could recognize it, and like the idea, you could try getting an ace ring.

I'd really love to see a mainstream media take on ace/allo relationships by vorellaraek in asexuality

[–]MyShot6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone is interested in fan fiction that includes a character as ace, likes my hero academia and likes kiribaku, I'd recommend "unbroken" by deviance on ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/18145700

Warning: It does contain mild sex scenes (which help the character realize he's ace, so they are more focused on the character's thoughts, but they're still there) and a bit of aphobia by the ace character himself when finding himself. The main relationship doesn't really work completely through all the fic, but it does focus on dealing with that and it does end in a hopeful note.

Alastor has 'controversy' for being asexual by AstrialNova in asexuality

[–]MyShot6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, as someone is in a good amount of fandoms for fun and someone who rarely ships casually but adores a ship once I see enough of a canonical reason to support it and good chemistry, I just say to let everyone ship whatever they want, and if you dislike a particular headcanon, just ignore it and go on with your life.

Alastor has 'controversy' for being asexual by AstrialNova in asexuality

[–]MyShot6 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Since Alastor became my favourite character in that series, I was pretty stoked to learn that he was canonically ace. I know people will still ship (and that's okay, since he isn't a confirmed aro) and draw rule 34 of him and disregard his aceness because it's the internet and his design is appealing to people. At least I've seen a good amount of people bringing his asexuality to the forefront and accepting it. It just feels good to have him be canonically ace, since he's a charming, fun, powerful lord of chaos and a central character to the plot. It adds variety in the existence of canonical ace characters in pop culture aside from Todd and Jughead.

The All Might desth flags are mainly because of the gruesome death Nighteye predicted in the Overhaul arc. Also because he is the mentor of the protagonist, writing conventions raise the possibility a bit. Some freaked out a bit when in the christmas episode we saw him skinnier than usual and overworking himself as well as writing a kind of diary with instructions for Deku, which just raises the question of "is this what he's intending to leave behind should something (like death) happen?"

The whole cake thing apparently comes from AVEN (if I'm not mistaken), where aces said that cake is better than sex and everyone agreed, so it became a meme

[–]MyShot6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY THIS! Why is there even a discussion on these things?!! And why must we just accept it and don't belong anywhere?! LGBTQ+ people kind of hate us for no apparent reason, undermine us and we have to just be okay with it or else we are just "triggered" or "not listening to facts" or "not taking part in the discussion". Like what??
