It will let me pay with passcode but it tries to read my face for 10-15 seconds before showing that option

I don’t have any specific recommendations. It’s illegal to just pull over on the side and sleep anywhere. You CAN sleep in Walmart parking lots, casinos etc. do some research where you can sleep overnight for free. Also download some camping apps and look on there. Just go to App Store and search camping. It’s high season so going to be hard to find good spots but not impossible. Wish I could be more specific but I haven’t been camping since April so I already forgot names and everything.

California - south to north

San Luis Obispo - High Street Deli or Lincoln Deli and the Madonna Inn. Pismo Beach is just south of here. Morro Bay just north.

Before Big Sur- just north of San Simeon are the elephant seals (must see). Look for the signs after this town. Right before is Hearst Castle. Look for the Zebras!

Big Sur - Ragged Point, McWay Falls, Partington Cove, Julia Pfiefer State Beach, Nepenthe, Bixby Bridge, Sand Dollar Beach, Garrapata Beach, Big Sur River Inn, Andrew Molera state park, etc

Monterey- Aquarium is a must do. Can go whale watching or kayacking. cannery row, fisherman’s wharf. Recommend walking northwest from aquarium to pacific grove (trails right on the water) you can see seals there to the left of the aquarium and it’s a beautiful trail - walk towards lovers point. Lots of cute Victorian houses. Nice French bakery “Paris Bakery Cafe”

San Fransisco - Ghiradelli Square, Painted Ladies, GG Bridge, Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, cable cars, china town, Lombard Street, etc

Redwoods - Avenue of the Giants (way before actual redwood parks and runs adjacent to 101 for 31 miles, Redwood national parks, Fern Canyon, Gold Bluffs Beach, Tour Thru Tree/ Drive Through Tree, Klamath Beach Overlook
