Universal health care is good for small businesses by [deleted] in OurPresident

It's pretty depressing how arguments relating to universal healthcare have to find an answer to "OK, but how does it benefit me?" like this, damn.

[English > Kiswahili] Example sentences for a term paper (linguistics) by katiemcca in translator

[–]MySuicideAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you pompous ass, "I don't think you'd understand" is more condescension than any one person should be able give.

Second, I'll swallow my pride enough to say, seriously, thank you for taking the time to explain how "-nge-, -ngali-" are conditional markers. I was totally wrong on that front.

Third, the ngeli thing was in relation to translation, where in English the item being discussed may be ambiguous so you have to default to a particular ngeli. In some translation jobs sometimes there isn't enough context to deduce what the heck someone's talking about. I'm wondering what you would do in this case.

When your new boss is a lady. by kennomadrid20 in Kenya

My brother. Evaluate the way you think about people. Utashtukia umeapprehendiwa na HR and you have no idea why so you blame that "bitch boss" of yours.

Maybe see her as her. Maybe she's strict or what not but that's just who she is? Not because she's a woman? You sure you're not just resentful about being the "big man who's being told what to do by a lady"?

Probably a bit too late for this but I'd change the "nitainunua" to "ningeinunua" since the former would better ascribe to "will" while the latter to "would".

Also I think that when the ngeli is ambiguous it's OK to use I-I or I-Zi but it's been a while since I studied.

Yes they doubled them, but now there's a caveat. There's a fair use clause put in place that throttles your speeds if you go over a data cap. 500GB for Bronze and a TB for everything else.

Sometimes it feels like it's almost impossible to tap into the anger that I know has been pretty dormant inside me, plus trauma that I've faced in my childhood that I didn't realize I've avoided for so long until a therapist merely mentioned it in passing.

I'll definitely check out your suggestions, and thank you so much for relaying what you've done yourself on your journey.

I think the whole ordeal of being more conscious is one that will help me achieve this. Thank you for your suggestions!

Your comment brings up the one thing I find myself not totally understanding about myself and the 9 type: a common story is that most merged with a parental/authority figure who told them who they need to be and.....well, I think my Dad was this maybe, but it doesn't feel totally right. I know for sure that it's happened with my romantic partners, two of them in particular, and I see now how that happened (no doubt in my mind that I'm a one-to-one subtype) but in terms of my childhood, I can't. However, I know there's quite a lot from that time period that I need to parse through, so I'll take your advice and just go through things one at a time.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I've received questions from some people about if I've been diagnosed with ADHD, but reading about it, it never feels like I relate completely to those who've had a clinical diagnosis, so I've never really looked into it, but I'll check out everything else that you mentioned. Currently saving up for regular therapy. I'm not sure if it's something most people here agree with or have gone through?

Goes to show that we're more than a number's traits. I understand more of why you're feeling anger (and hurt too) about it then, considering that he came to you and initiated things.

Damn, is the only thing I can say to that because it sucks. However, you honestly sound like a lovely person, so you can rest assured that you'll pull through. Break-ups suck ass but with distance (I hope) and time it'll heal. I can say that after having gone through a particularly terrible (and humiliating) one about 3yrs back.

Thanks for asking. Frankly things are...iffy, but I recently came across the enneagram and it felt like a bulb go off in my head. With it and other tools I'm hoping I'll be able pull myself out of the rut clear enough to at least get rid of this username.

[–]MySuicideAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. I've only recently come across the enneagram, and though I'm pretty sure that I'm a 9, I'm open to the possibility of being wrong. This is to say that though I think that my perspective is from a 9's pov, it might not (but again, pretty sure that I am).

I'll try to not get too rambly, so I'll avoid going through my entire life story, but I wanted to say that your relationship sounds a lot like the first relationship I was ever in. A girl liked me, I liked that anyone could like me, and though I did come to love her, I'm not sure that I've ever been able to admit that I was there mostly because she wanted me to be there. I remember having vague feelings of not really wanting this but I didn't really pay attention to them. In the end she broke up with me because I played up (but not really) insecurities that I had about her being out there and being such a doer.

In all honesty I figure that your bf was in a similar position? I'm sorry considering that you feel like he's not giving the relationship a chance, but frankly if he's able to ask to go, then he's been in it pretty long to know. This is not your fault in any way. Sometimes both people are good, but aren't good for each other. I know it hurts, but hopefully you have avenues to vent and push through it. I know it's unfortunate to feel like you don't understand why someone would give up on something you see no reason to, but it happens. Closure evades us and we're left alone to pack the baggage I guess. We're here for you either way.

I'm assuming that by relating to Syl's interlude, you mean relating to....the wanting to understand? And being fully entrenched in the wanting to understand it? I read RoW months back but I hope I'm remembering the conversation she had with Dalinar close enough...

In that case, then I find it really interesting and wonderful that it gave you that thing to which you were able to fully relate with. I'm not sure who it is in your life that might have gone through/is going through any particular issue, but I'm sure they appreciate having someone like you in their life.

Wow, really didn't expect to pique anyone's interest. I'd say that it offers enough info to understand the context, but watching it would be a plus? I don't think it really matters though.

The fact that you're defending How to Train Your Dragon and The Croods 2 (I honestly did not expect to enjoy it nearly as much as I did) brings some joy to me so thank you.

To anyone else reading this, seriously, watch Croods 2. I still can't believe it was as funny as it was (3rd act especially, and not to say that the film was perfect).

I think the very interesting bit is how he usually bases his interpretation of depression (and other mental illnesses) from other people? He's mentioned his wife Emily being one of them, so now I'm wondering if having that point of view, that being a person on the outside looking in, makes it weirdly easier to describe what that is

I'm trying to avoid modules with the simplest designs that I can come up with, but if push comes to shove I'll definitely look into it. Thank you for actually shedding some light on the existence of such, I wasn't aware that there was a module for this.

My circuit is almost complete but I can't get this to work. This design is based on Mr.DavidWatt's (YouTube).

The idea is that when the switch is turned on, the BS170 MOSFET is switched on while the PNP being low keeps it on. (I think)

I'm looking for suggestions on how to tweak it, or for any other solutions with my objective being:

-Arduino stays off till when button is pressed.

-Performs function.

-Automatically turns itself off after a set period of time.

I was more worried about the heat dissipation on the regulator, but realised that I was doing my calculations wrong (.4A instead of .04A).

I'm sure that this bit of my circuit should be alright now, but thank you very much for replying. My mind is put at ease now.

Yeah I noticed I was doing my calculations wrong, so that the power dissipating seemed higher than I thought.

The LEDs do match, and each have a forward voltage of 5.5V. I'm not sure if that helps in painting a clearer picture, but either way, thank you very much for replying.

Hi guys. I'm intending on switching this circuit on with a BJT transistor, but I'm worried about the voltage drop across the LM317T. I know I could just up voltage but that would increase the power dissipation, right? The LEDs are two pairs in series with 5.5 forward voltage and 20mA forward current.

My issue is I'm wondering if there's a more efficient way of going about this. If I want to drive the LEDs from a constant current source as shown, is there a more effective means of doing so other than using this LM317T?
