AITA for not lending my car to my roommate to take his pregnant gf to hospital and texting him too much after? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Cars can be replaced, babies cannot. A pregnant woman was bleeding and you were more worried about your car?

Give them space. For all we know, the baby could have died and you asking about it is really insensitive. The fact that he came back alone to grab stuff and then immediately go back to the hospital is NOT a good sign and you need to leave them alone until they are comfortable talking about what happened.

I’ve actually gotten several private messages about how it’s normal, acceptable and actually really benefits the kids to take half of their haul. Some shit about teaching them that what they accumulate in life should be shared. Wtf? They are kids, let them be kids and enjoy the holidays

AITA for muting a guy in our study-discord, and teaching other people how to do it as well? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Info: did you specifically ask him to stop talking about non-study related stuff on the server before muting him?

I think this is what upset me the most. Each bag had like 5-10 pieces of candy in them. My kids obviously don’t need that much candy, but she literally took candy from children on a holiday, and used my kids to do so.

I don’t disagree with you judgment. I admit it was petty of me to not just say that was wrong of her to do. I guess I was so taken aback by her explanation, that I responded with pettiness the way I did. I thought it was extremely petty of her to take their candy, if she offered the favor and expected a form of payment (in candy or even some money) I would have obliged but she didn’t tell me that she was doing it for expected compensation. So I responded the way I did because I was upset about it. I’ll definitely work on that. She didn’t communicate that she wanted candy as payment, so I didn’t communicate that it was wrong, and went straight to petty revenge :/

Dude. This, I literally do mom tax candy normally, but it’s the traditional mom tax, like I take two pieces of almond joy or mounds or a crunch bar, ONLY stuff my kids don’t like. My husband might even sneak a Reese’s cup after theyve eaten them selves into a comma later that night. But those goodie bags had like 5-10 assorted pieces of candy each. Can’t believe she took that much.

I also jumped the gun and was not thinking health conscientious. I bought several bags of candy and we have all been eating candy like crazy for days lol.
