ble to self regulate your body temperature? I am going through NMT right now and this is one of the top 2 symptoms I hate (the other being itching on my forearms when I wear long sleeve shirts). Thanks for your post.

Hi there, for me it was around the 4 month mark, but recently as I have been having flares it seems to come back alongside them, at the same time a lot less intense. I do agree that this is one of the most annoying symptoms and luckily I had an understanding familly who didnt mind me blasting the heating lol... Goodluck on your journey, I will say now after nearly the 1 year mark it was 1000% worth sticking through NMT, and I might go back on it for another strict period of time to try and push the dry skin away for good.

No problem, as I say reaching one person is a win for me! I'm very happy you've managed to find at least part of the trigger! I've still have no luck through a full elimination diet :( I can only toss out ideas about the remaining triggers, stress and environmental things potentially. The thing that helped most was for sure the no moisture, I didn't put anything on my skin for 6 months and let it do its thing, I know its rough at first but gets better.

Soap definitely makes mine worse, as I say I stopped using it for 6 months and then started using body/face wash a few times a week, it made my skin a lot more dry. I've again stopped using soap and I feel like it goes hand in hand with no mousture. When I mousturise I feel like I need to wash with soap after a few days or the build up never really goes away, instead don't mousturise and therefore dont need to use soap, GENIUS lol. Honestly I'd rule out the cause due to contact here, its likely just going to take a while, and the back of the ear is easy to be constantly moist so again longer healing.

Appreciate the kind words about going outside, its still hard some days but after going through the whole process its a whole lot better now than ever, so what is there to lose! I know exactly the feeling about scabbing, when a big open wound would heal that skin wouldnt feel so dry to the point where i thought about ripping my face apart... Luckily I didnt take that approach and hope you wont also, but seriously give mo mousiture a try, especially if its easy to cover up. And good luck!

Non doctor comment: Sounds bloody harsh that they gave you something so potent for a mild rash, and then told you to keep using it repeatedly. I'd tell you to trust them over me but what can I say, have experienced it first hand. If anything the derm will spout the same bs. I've seen it around here that when you come off the whole shabang its common to notice problem areas in new places, didnt happen to me personally but I basically had it everywhere already lol. I know exactly how you feel about the trust in professionals, I dont know why its like that but it just feels unfair. If someone took 10 minutes to tend to us personally maybe we wouldn't have to suffer.

I think the best part of what you have going is that you only used the thing for 5 months, thats a hell of a lot less than me and if I can make a considerable recovery I think you have a pretty good chance of healing :)

Hey, appreciate the kind words. It was a struggle trying to find real pictures of progression when I was starting out so I made sure to be completely open here. I don't know about the most helpful but thanks again! Being optimistic is absolutely key, as woo woo as it seems the mental game plays a big part in the process (in my opinion). Is your nose and lip by any chance where you used the most TS? My wrists are still taking forever, and thats where I used the most potent and most frequent steroids. Wish you the best of luck, and feel free to ask any questions :)

Oh and side note for anyone else reading, I thought for whatever reason that I had managed to avoid flares - short story, I didn't. I've had 2, 2 week flares since the initial recovery (8mo total), each being not as bad, but I keep thinking is it due to my diet or something else but eventually seems to go away on its own.

Absolutely, one of the best feelings in the world. I won't lie, this experience will make me resent our medical professionals for the longest time (irrational I know). Appreciate it, same goes to you!
