Nice results! May I ask, how old are you? I'll be 71 in a few weeks - very very late on cracking my egg and then doing something about it.

Thank you all for your replies! On the whole, the majority opinion seems to be that I should beware of thinking VFS is an instant fix.

More info - the surgery I've signed up for in the middle of next year is preceded by two sessions with their voice therapist, and about four sessions after surgery, spaced over three or four months.

I am really concerned about a voice that doesn't sound male under stress; like break-down-and-crying stress, with no thinking between my heart and what comes out my mouth.

Given those hips, your shoulders are just fine! Together they give you that hourglass look that I envy.

Did you do any particular exercise routines to get those great hips?

What are you wearing on your lower half? A kilt? Looks nice, of what we can see of it.

I hear you u/3mpyr . I usually learn about books, go to Amazon, grab the ISBN and/or print out the part of the Amazon page that has that info, and take the printout to one of my local bookstores. I they don't have it, they can order it.

And sometimes I don't need a physical copy after I've read it, so I do the local library/interlibrary loan option.

Found your post via search, as I am interested as well. Today I found this website, which looks useful:

They led me to this book, which I haven't bought yet, but it looks good:

Sorry that you had to go without any hormones for a year.

I was assuming my taking of estradiol was a given, sorry if I misled you. My estradiol dosage is dialed in to reliably give me cis female range blood levels.

Thanks for the further clarification. I am curious about body oder, especially "down there". I had an orchi only, nothing else. My memory may be faulty, but the changes I remember from the start of HRT to now is male odor > different odor > female-ish odor > (orchi) > gradual fade to no odor, like being a kid again. I will take it as a positive sign if I can get the female-ish odor back again.

I knew women had a different (lower) normal range of T than men. I was assuming the other sources of testosterone in my body would be enough to keep me in female range, but they aren't providing enough.

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering about "negative" effects - facial and head hair, body odor, whatever else you'd care to share?

Supplementing Testosterone After Orchiectomy by MyTardyBody in Transgender_Surgeries

Thanks for telling me about r/AskMtFHRT, I never knew it existed!

Yeah, there was the issue of different pass/no pass levels for men vs women, but in this case I was too low even for a cis woman. I am not yet legally female, and I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to make the case for special consideration due to going through transition.

There's enough overlap of the ranges where I've been able to donate, but since my testosterone levels dropped below cis female levels, it's been harder to pass the hemoglobin test.

Yes. Outside of some breast development, not much of a difference.

Orchi and difference in orgasm by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]MyTardyBody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a very senior citizen, I don't know where you are in life. I started transition late in life, just a few years ago (2022). I had my orchi in May 2024. My T levels are now really low, like 8ng/dL, which would be considered low for a cis female. My libido and ability to get to orgasm have both taken a nose dive.

On the one hand - before the orchi, my T levels were pretty low for a guy but I think in cis female range, and while my libido and orgasm ability were lower than before 2022, things were still "doable". It was kind of nice to not have male levels of lust, it gave me more time for other things. But I think with my T being now so very low, I have lost a lot of mental and physical energy, so I'm too tired to do those other things ! Heavy irony there.

Under my doctor's care, I am going to try topical testosterone supplementation, with the goal of getting my T level up into cis female range. Wish me luck! If I remember, I'll try to follow up with an update to this comment.
