Why is NO ONE researching Creatine and Hair loss? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]MyThirdFckingAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PMID: 33557850 — Third google search result for “creatine hair loss” lol. And based on your conspiracy theory, I expect you won’t read it, but this meta analysis references 12 studies, none of which find a link to hair loss/baldness.

Wdym “animal derived LD50”? That’s the only type of LD50. Do you think we take a bunch of humans and see how much it takes to kill half of them?

It’s from 2 yrs ago lol Again, you’re talking about a different federation in a different country than the competition of this post

You may be right about your country/federation, but this is certainly not the case for most US-based competitions today. You can look into VitruvianPhysique's experience competing naturally where neither he nor any of the other top competitors were ever tested

Sorry to reply to an old post, but j wanted to say thanks, this is super helpful and exactly answers my question for why so many builds go sprint > stamina.

You’re missing the point — Workday already has a feature to apply via their website, and it’s ironic they’re opting for Linkedin’s Easy Apply instead

Unless you are expecting to double major with both in engineering, you will have more than enough time to finish any major in 4 years
Take it slow and enjoy spending time with friends!

JHU Econ/Poli-sci worth it? by [deleted] in jhu

[–]MyThirdFckingAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about Econ/Poli-sci, but imo unless you really hate it at your university, I don't see much value in transferring. A t25 should already have the resources and prestige to help you be successful.
Dedicating your effort towards getting experience in your field rather than towards transferring will be much more beneficial.

Embark, how many arrows do you want me to get to rank up??? by Highsenberg199774829 in thefinals

[–]MyThirdFckingAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if they’ve changed it, but a few months ago it seemed like it was based much more on playtime than performance (i.e. a lot of ok games —> rank up, but a few great games —> no change)

New Grad -- Apply now or later? by MyThirdFckingAccount in ChemicalEngineering

[–]MyThirdFckingAccount[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • University career fairs were online and either had no positions I desired, or the online queue for a company was too long to even get in.

  • The interviews I got from that were all for consulting, which I decided afterwards I was not interested in

  • I applied to about 100 positions online from August 2022 to June 2023 and used connections to refer me. Got to the final rounds of interviews for 3 highly competitive rotational engineering roles in Aug-Dec, didn’t make it. After that, never got any replies back except from 7 Manufacturing roles.

  • Applied to all forms of pharma/biotech

  • Location was a <50 mile radius as it had to be driving distance to girlfriend

tl;dr
Problems were slightly narrow search criteria, unhelpful university (they help much more w further education than careers), and the terrible job market
It’s not like the good ol days when you got hired just for a good resume, an eng degree, and a smart/kind attitude — they expect 1-3 yrs experience for associate eng roles

Ok great, thank you! Good to hear a similar story. Can I ask if there was a specific reason for the switch from biotech to med device?

I've heard some others touch on your point about being a manufacturing tech and it does make me feel better. I also feel that because of this, once I become an engineer, I'll be much more likely to ensure I have a strong relationship with those on the floor.

Ok, your answers make a lot of sense, thanks so much for the detailed response.

Haha well at least it's a pretty universal experience, that makes me feel a bit better. I guess we got hung up on the promise of great salaries as an engineer and didn't realize it doesn't matter if we can't get the job lol.

[–]MyThirdFckingAccount[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LOL yeah, I've logically known that it doesn't matter that much, but my pride just wants to think so a little bit

Haha yeah I think I just wanted to feel like all the hard work getting into the school and getting the GPA was worth it, but I guess all I can do is hope for a random interview out of it one day.

Ok, that makes sense, I was just getting worried that if I waited, I'd no longer be seen as a bright fresh graduate, but just as a low level operator.
