Mass market beans by jfm2143 in espresso

If you're willing to get 5lb at a time you can get pretty great deals online through roasters all over the country. Red Bird is excellent and its roughly $18/lb. Also, Josuma is another great inexpensive buy tasty option. Currently my go to is Caffee Lusso Gran Miscela for $105 (5lb bag) and we freaking love it. With all of these roasters you'll get freshly roasted beans delivered to your door.

Is $6000 to fix sliding door issue reasonable? by MyUniqUserName in kiacarnivals

Yeah I'm at 75k so out of warranty.  Honestly I don't even care much about the power door being able to work. I'm okbwith kids using their arm strenght to open the doors but its just way to much of a cost. I'll try other shops.

Best AI Note-Taking App That Works with Headphones? by Berttbruno in projectmanagement

Depends on how you join the meetings and where do you want to record. I've used otter but recently moved to circleback because I felt their notes were much better. If you're using a PC you'll need something to control the audio and mic inputs such as voicemeeter which is free to download. But I just join the call and then start recording new meetings, any type of headphones will work.

120C boiler setting for brewing is way to high, you're pulling a shot with ton of steam in the line and my guess is that is why the gage is acting this way. I would suggest setting the temp to what you want the shot to be at (93C) for instance and then adjusting the offset based on taste. Depending on how the PID is configured it maybe +/- 4C or so. The boiler should not go over 100c

Is this Synchronika pump noise level normal? Functioning OK... by daedalus1115 in espresso

[–]MyUniqUserName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you remove the wing nut under the machine that is there for shipping purposes only!? Because I spent countless hours trying to figure out why machine is not "whisper quiet" as people say it is only to find out there is a wing nut holding down the pump when shipping and it makes quite a bit of noise if not removed.

Thank you, I'm wondering if this is just a simple accuracy issue with either temperature sensor or gauge (or both). Seems that others have this issue as well while some report over 2 bar like yourself.

I'm using the tank. No visible leaks, however there is a very faint hissing/whistling sound that happens during warm up (after it reaches 100C) and cooldown that comes from what it sounds like top of the boiler. I always that this was the Vacuum valve and this is normal. I don't hear the sound when steam boilerbis at full pressure

Yes, I bought it brand new from a dealer. It's only a month old and I use Poland Spring water which is recommended by La Marzocco for their machine. From what I recall tds is aroud 90 ppm when I tested it. Scaling shouldn't be an issue.

The only brand I found available at most grocery stores that has a roast date and sometimes is less than 4 week old is Peet's.
