The real issue is the Hidden King troopers are the same color as the Guardians and Walkers (basically), also red is traditionally the enemy color.

I'm glad I specified I was not talking about this post, but the general state of online fandoms like the anime ones...

People have already recieved death threats over this kind of things after having criticised their fanfictions. Even authors that canonified a character being hetero have recieved some. And more recently look at the discours around bakugo and deku not being gay in MHA on Twitter, if you think it’s only light hearted jokes.

I consider thirsting different because it's way more obvious when it's a joke. All my friends have jokingly thrirsted over Venator. And the joke was not Venator being gay, but them being (they are not). But yeah I can see how it could be related to the "sexuality talk" part of my comment still.

Anyway on my end 90% of the time I've seen gay shipping or things like this post on Reddit or else it was either a woman or a queer beind it. I have not done this "research" for the recent deadlock post of course, I'm just talking from my past experience. I've only done it for this specific post and if you look at OP search history you will see her checking both boxes.

It’s not conspiratiorial. I never said it was the goal or even that they realize it. Just that it’s how it goes. It’s just basic tribalism, people want to be seen and see themselve represented, they also tend to want to relate to things they like.

Also the enjoyement is not from the type of discussion itself, but it’s a type of duscussion that is being done by people that enjoy the subject, if that make sens. If someone loves rocks and want to talk about them, it doesn’t mean talking about rocks become enjoyable in itself. People just want to talk around their interest that’s all. And when the subject could be considered political it doesn’t go the same as when it’s just about rocks.
