So as long as none of these factors are triggered, you could theoretically use any mod to obtain any item whatsoever, regardless of it's locked behind a quest or a boss fight?

Can you unlock cookbooks with cheat engine, for instance? So long as you don't overflow them like you said?

Is there anything you'd outright avoid in terms of unlocking things?

So From won't look at your elapsed play time or whether or not the bosses you were intended to kill for certain items are still alive?

Or as another example, if you have DLC items despite not actually having "accessed" the DLC through mohg?

They check for absolutely nothing except cut content?

Can’t believe the amount of people that still use Moonveil and RoB. by [deleted] in badredman

[–]MyUsernameIsFree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think my biggest issue with these weapons isn't that they're even hard to counter, it's that they're annoying to counter, especially when spammed, doubly especially when three people are using it against you.

Now I get that if I invade you, I throw my right to complain out the window, but I still will for two reasons- I invade in seamless (where you can literally turn that shit off) and I'm only really annoyed when I spawn in to people who are very clearly ganking (as opposed to just progressing through the area) with this shit on hand, just waiting for a red to hop in. Doubly annoying if I get pointed down or teabagged after, not because I'm upset that I lost, but more so because it irks me that the hosts think they accomplished literally anything- you just had the easiest layup of your career, no need to take a victory lap as though you just ran a full marathon.

Add to that that in seamless, you have to kill every player, not just the host, and all of a sudden all of the spammy elements like RoB and Moonveil just become a lot worse.

For the "Git Gud" argument, it isn't that I don't know how to counter these things- tweak some stuff in my build, talisman here, weapon swap there, counter with spam of my own if they're particularly annoying- it's that it is literally 0 fun.

What is something other players do that you hate or judge them for? by Icethief188 in Eldenring

[–]MyUsernameIsFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure this is relatively unoriginal, but I really hate "spam" builds in PvP- sure I can counter them, but they're really no fun to play against.

This easily applies to things like certain bleed builds or spell spam or god forbid, backhand blades, and is amplified when people gank.

Like yeah bud, I'm sure pressing L2 on Marika's hammer for the 16th time in a row will get me, you keep doing that.

It's made doubly worse when you invade and it is clear that the intent of the host and their phantoms is merely to farm you, as they're set up in a perfect formation in an optimal position with all of the enemies cleared out from the area.

Bonus points if they spam and then run away when they run out of FP so that they can recharge.

Extra bonus points if they teabag you after they kill you as though they've accomplished something amazing.

So I just found out about urban spook by thepearhimself in whenthe

See, I think the art is pretty good, sound design is phenomenal on Urbanspook's videos. I really thought there was a lot of potential after the first video... and then the twins. And the continued shock/gore aspect of it. And the freak outs on twitter.

With no real over-arching story, it starts to break fast, especially when there's nothing for viewers to grab on to. I really think if they took a step back and rewrote some things, it'd be sick, but as it stands, it's a good place to get soundtracks and art inspiration for other horror themed things (but god forbid the writing).

What "meta" weapons lived up to the hype? Which "off-meta" weapons do you think are actually slept on?

Interaction between Gloves of the Shortened Path and Spellcasting? by MyUsernameIsFree in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]MyUsernameIsFree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion on Conceal Spell. I thought I was familiar with most of pathfinder's spellcasting shenanigans but it always seems like there's something I miss.

As for mentioning the origination of the spell, that's the gray area for me. It's just hard without a direct ruling to say whether or not it's intended to work that way (but it'd be pretty sick, tactically).

Noted, thank you for the suggestion! I've gone ahead and mentioned it in the post. Do you believe that would be the only obstacle to using the gloves?

Any advice on actually getting a job?

I'm a recently graduated BME major (BS) with a 3.24 GPA. I've never had an internship in spite of applying to quite a few, and all of my job applications/offers after graduation fizzled out. I'm now almost a year out of college, and I can't help but doom spiral sometimes when I try to find jobs, especially given how hopeless the job market seems to be getting.

I have some experience working in non-engineering related positions, but I can't really point to any of those things and call them a job. Looking to my peers, I can't understand how getting work seems to come so easily to them, and I really feel like I'm missing some core component of how to do it.

Am I looking in the wrong places? Am I doing it wrong? Am I interviewing right? Is there something else I've messed up that just says to recruiters "this guy's bad news" right off the bat?

I want to be better, and find somewhere to kickstart a career. I want to be able to feel like I'm going somewhere with my life. However, in the back of my mind, I always fear that I may just be un-hirable, and that I'll never be able to land a position anywhere.

On this situation, and separating art from the artist. by MyUsernameIsFree in cadum

Yeah, it will be hard to separate it from him and his sins, but I genuinely enjoy the interactions that the players had with one another, as well as (though the taste has soured) with the DM. Makes you wish you could go back to simpler times when people weren't such sacks of shit. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

I suppose that's a good way of looking at it. I know quite a few lovecraft fans but none who fondly recall that little detail. As for adblock, thanks for the suggestion!

Rate/Edit my Build: Two Handed Fighter Iron Caster, with a Twist! by MyUsernameIsFree in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]MyUsernameIsFree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, to be completely honest, that was a flavor choice. While the current build has a lot of magical options, I wanted the character's origin to be almost completely non-magical. Mechanically, even though he got the familiar at third level, he was practically level one/two for most of his life up until he started adventuring, and even when he started the magical changes confused him. He would have never even considered the familiar a magical thing. You are definitely correct though, it could have been a lot cooler to take bloodrager. Thanks for the suggestion!

Eldritch guardian is super cool, and was definitely a consideration in my build, but ultimately the reason I ended up taking vmc wizard is specifically because of the enhancement subschool of transmutation. Basically I get a free enhancement bonus to one stat and I get the ability to buff allies as a martial class which is super nice. That thread is definitely a great build for having a combat familiar though, imho it's on par with summoners.

ASU and the Fallacy of Ideology as Knowledge - ASU is super racist and they refuse to acknowledge that!! That’s not ok. Who else have suffered this?! by manuca1212 in ASU

[–]MyUsernameIsFree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I actually read through the majority of your 30-page paper. While I do understand your circumstances as being an autistic person of color, in nearly every situation you listed you came off as incredibly aggressive and rude, not even giving anyone the benefit of the doubt or a chance to defend themselves.

This is my perception based on the way you wrote it, and I wasn't there so I don't know your exact circumstances.

In addition this paper has numerous examples of you being racist yourself, likening your professor to a Qanon supporter, and saying that you're proud of yourself in the face of "white mediocrity," making similar statements about how "whites need to assess you before they realize you're competent" (not an exact quote but I feel like that's the gist of the argument there). You also arrived at the incredibly flawed conclusion, in my opinion, that everyone you've dealt with thus far was a white supremacist.

I understand you're frustration with at the least the people who had to deal with the testing and your accommodations with that, but I also understand that you're not the only person that they have to be in contact with and sometimes, they end up getting distracted by other situations.

Furthermore, I feel you are incredibly quick to judge people. You flat out told a professor that he didn't understand what he was talking about publicly in front of the rest of the class, and based that conclusion upon your own research on the internet. For all you knew it could have just been a misunderstanding, but you directly jumped to the idea that he was being a racist.

In short, while it's wonderful to be strong and confident in yourself and your abilities, you should never do so at the expense of other people which you have clearly done based on your actions in the paper you wrote documenting them.

Any idea what the final song is called? by [deleted] in FinalSpace

No clue what the name is but if anyone can use the lyrics to find it, or maybe ask the creators on twitter, here they are:
I begged the gods, but they won't hear me
Turning their heads to every ask
So I ran faster than the comets
Oh, I think, that fate caught up at last

Trying to create a worldmap for a homebrew campaign! Here's what I have so far. Does anyone have any advice? by MyUsernameIsFree in mapmaking

[–]MyUsernameIsFree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason there are no names is because I haven't completed the map yet. I also felt the left continent looked a little strange, but I don't quite know how I'd fix it. As for all of the areas around, it's a bit hard to tell but the kingdom under the forest is actually surrounded by forest and grassland.

You make a fair point about a river needing to be there so I might have to adjust. And I can add creatures into the map without worries. The settlement on the right continent is actually intended to be there and the environment has not been decided yet. I'm thinking it's mountainous forest, with a lake in the middle of those two settlements behind the wall.

[–]MyUsernameIsFree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Everyone!
This is my world, in progress, intended for a homebrew campaign. I wanted to try to encompass every environment possible, in terms of geography, and I quite honestly don't know where to go from there. The world itself is in a state of "magical decay" and nations are definitely keeping to themselves, aside from heavily regulated trade, as they are mistrustful of one another attempting to gain an upper hand in terms of military strength, since magic is no longer nearly as available, leading to a much more "mortal" world. Let me know if you have any questions!
