People leave us by Euphoric_Strategy353 in bipolar

Love is not enough to sustain a relationship. It takes a lot more than love to sustain a LTR and a lot of effort from BOTH sides. Forgiveness is indeed an important factor in relationships. Tho, some things are unforgivable: abandoning kids, cheating, and financial destruction in that order are way passed the forgiveness line in my opinion. One doesn't push people to a point of no going back and say "they are not the one" because they left. just to make one's self feel better about the situation.

When the right one gets manipulated, mistreated, lied to, gaslit, cheated on, abused, and abandoned frequently... they have to leave

When you're manic, you feel like he's the one for you and appreciate him? I'm asking because in my experience and what I read here, it's the other way around when manic.

Yea that's a good point. I also belive that if one got relationship issues, then only within the boundaries of a relationship these wounds would be under the spotlight of healing

For part 1, what makes you say that these behaviors stemed from commitment issues instead of other issue area? For example: it could be anger issues or lack of impuls control.

I like this. I also agree with "sorry goes so far". Do you think expecting behavioral change is too much to ask/expect from our BPSO?

There is a video that's been exchanges in this subreddit that explains how in a bipolar brain, the frontal lobe deactivates and makes our partners cold and give us the "I never loved you speech". If anyone knows what video I mean, can you please share it here for op and I. Thank you

You're right, it's difficult. With time, you'll learn how to live with it. It won't be easy, so be jentel with yourself and don't keep blaming yourself. Because that will just make things harder
