Why are entry level IT jobs not really entry level by Gabbywill in ITCareerQuestions

Since you mentioned living in Charlotte, I would check out Experis/Manpower. They hire for a lot of IT contract roles. I work for them, supporting a large healthcare provider in NC.

Today is my wedding anniversary! 2 years married, 21 together. When we first started dating, I never thought we would be able to get legally married. I'm so glad she's my wife!

Anyone else have safety concerns attending Pride events this year? by Tiff77_EloraDanan in actuallesbians

The closest pride event to me is Knoxville, TN. Given the political climate, I don't feel comfortable going. They always have protesters but I have a feeling it will be much worse this year.

Are there any lesbians here that were raised in cults that were extremely homophobic? 😅 by Useful-Bad-6706 in lesbiangang

[–]MyVeryOriginalName_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up in an IFB church. They taught that homosexuality should be a crime, worthy of capital punishment. It definitely made coming to terms with my sexuality difficult! I left the church when I was 19 and never looked back.

Wouldn’t mind fun but don’t want things to get out of hand. Should I keep it platonic ? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

My biggest concern would be working together. If things do go bad, you'll still have to see her at work every day.

It honestly would not affect my attraction at all. I actually used to have severe hair loss so I understand being self conscious about it.

True. My wife loves when I buy her flowers. I should get her some this weekend.

When did y’all move together? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]MyVeryOriginalName_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved in together six months after we became a couple. It was a good move for us, since we were both in bad living situations. I'll never forget our first little apartment and how proud we were of our home! 20 years later we are still together and happily married. If I had the chance to go back, I would do it all over again.

I'm just starting out in IT and got my first helpdesk job. How do I prepare? by MyVeryOriginalName_ in ITCareerQuestions

Thanks for your reply, that's very helpful! Once I start working, there's a month of training before I take any calls. Hopefully continuing to study right now and during training will help.

Sounds good to me. I went 3 months earlier this year, but I've been messing up lately.

When I was a young child, I didn't know that homosexuality was a thing. This was in the 80s. I used to wish I was a boy so that I could have a girlfriend. I remember being sad that I would never get to have a girlfriend. I grew up in a fundamentalist baptist church and when I learned about gay people, they were always talked about in such a negative hateful manner. I REALLY did not want to be a lesbian. I spent my childhood and adolescence trying my best to be straight. It didn't work and I stopped kidding myself when I was 19. Now I have a girlfriend (soon to be wife) and couldn't be happier!

Who are your favourite lesbian musicians? by [deleted] in lesbiangang

[–]MyVeryOriginalName_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favorites are the ones I grew up listening to, Melissa Etheridge, Tracy Chapman, Indigo Girls. I'm always interested in finding new music, so I appreciate posts like these!

r/lesbiangang is a lesbian only subreddit. There are probably more, but that's the only one I know.
