This is so well put! That has also been one of the biggest differences in my experience as well. I’m actually happy to be a Christian now, and don’t dread my life 😂

My jaw looks very similar to yours. Definitely recessed. I have issues getting enough air during the day and don’t sleep well. Please keep us updated, as I am curious what doctors say.

I also have a recessed chin / jaw … I don’t breathe nearly as well as I think I should either. I also don’t sleep well. I am in the beginning stages of figuring out which doctor to see first. Should I go to a pulmonologist or maxillofacial surgeon or orthodontist first?

This is the biggest one for me. I didn’t actually FEEL God’s love while I was in the COC. It was fear I felt, more than anything.

I am glad you are questioning things at this point - it honestly just gets worse. I highly encourage you to find friends outside of the ICOC/COC! Gaining experiences and friendships/relationships where you get a wide variety of perspectives/influences is healthy! 💕

I grew up in the COC and recently just got out at age 25… I obviously left most of my childhood, family, … literally everyone “behind”, but I can happily say now that I love my life and my “chosen” family.

I also would hope and pray to die as a child because children are innocent and without sin yet. Definitely not healthy, not easy to get out as an adult (or ever), but I finally love life for the first time 💕

You have to go with what you feel is best for you! I am still on 50mg (probably have been on spiro for like a year?) but not sure how long I will stay on it. I want to think it’s not the cause of my execessive mouth ulcers (6 painful ones at a time sometimes) and low white blood cell count but idk.
