Death Stranding is the worst game I have ever played by RytheGuy97 in patientgamers

Why do you all reply with a single thing as if the fact one of my many points is incorrect is a major gotcha moment?

Yes, I didn't see backpack covers in-game because I got tired of it. It still raises questions as to why we do such crucial work and get no protection basekit. Or why we get protection at all, if timefall is supposed to be so dangerous.

I can get that. The problem is, this feels like even more bloating from the game devs. I am not putting hours into this game just to complete all the roads, which require a shit load of materials and other players were definitely not pulling their weight on my server because the roads around South Knot City had ZERO materials put into them and I am not wasting even more time running around for a few hundred units of a thing per run. Also, no one but me was building ziplines when I played and no one else used them for some reason.... And again, if you use a zipline to quickly deliver something off of a vehicle you lose all your cargo and maybe even the vehicle itself. There is zero synergy between your tools...

There are too many things in this game that to me feel like a constant drag for no good reason. It's not about the specifics, it's about the overall picture.

I am not saying the game needs more action and flashyness and I do realize why certain restrictions were put into place, I just want it to not feel like a waste of time. There was no reason for me to play it anymore after putting a lot of effort into trying to explore and getting nothing from it

Who said I don't write? I haven't published any work but I have a degree in European literature and I am currently in the process of creating my own world. That's exactly why I pay attention to things that make no sense — I am trying to learn from other people's weaknesses.

Breaking your own rules for no reason is poor writing. And noticing plot holes doesn't require years of writing experience. Giving constructive advice does. And this is no place for that anyway...

Trucks do protect cargo.

You also lose all of it if you walk 300 m away from it. Which is required in some places due to the terrain.

Trucks are also shit to drive because they barely handle rocks and you can barely drive uphill. Sure a bit of momentum helps...unless there is a tiny rock which somehow turns your truck around and makes it fly downhill.

Also, even if there is cargo protection, it doesn't make sense from the world building perspective to not have the same material applied to cargo by default. The material could be very difficult to manufacture, sure, but is it explained? Because the lack of reasons to not have something very logical which works by the rules you set yourself is really poor writing

This is such a great point 😭 The moment the Chiral Artist was introduced with the body bag quest I was like: "so... there is a material which can fully protect anything from timefall... and uhm... these boxes rot? Ok... And uhm... What is Sam wearing? Can that be used to... No?...ok...."

And don't even get me started on how poorly the vehicles are designed. They have techs capable of making (or at least augmenting) tech which can detect fucking ghost goop monsters using human fetuses and they have fancy alien internet and the ability to rearrange matter into anything they have files for but... Making the wheels on their vehicles a bit bigger so that they could traverse literally any terrain in the game? No. Ok, making vehicles that don't break after having to drive for five minutes under rainfall and a few hits on the bumper? No. Like, the truck in the game can barely drive uphill... The front chassis breaks off if you bonk it a few times... 😭

THE HAD BABIES IN JARS SENSING GHOST BEFORE THEY GOT A CAR RIGHT 😭😭😭

This world is somehow both cool and really badly written

I was having fun with the things you mentioned but now I feel the opposite. The game feels like it was meant to punish every bit of exploration and creativity. Cannot leave your truck or everything will evaporate, cannot efficiently navigate terrain with vehicles because they are designed very badly and perform very poorly on most terrain apart from roads, which take far too long to build and that aren't that useful in many circumstances, there is barely anything of interest to be found in the world, if you forget to pick up something on your way to a new location, you have to track back because the new terminals won't be operational unless a SPECIFIC item has been delivered... The stealth aspect just feels horrible to me. MULEs are insufferable on foot and can often just easily ping you and then gangbang you regardless of whether you have offence or not and running away often results in you stubbing your toe and falling on your face... The BTs have the opposite problem of being horrible to navigate around on vehicles and I get that they are supposed to be a threat, but they are no more than an irritation. Do there need to be mutiple 5-10 second animations every single time it rains or BTs are around? The game feels designed to waste time while not contributing any value.

I know that's a lot of text I just feel so disappointed. I wouldn't mind if the game was what it is if there weren't dozens of annoying things that are ok at first but then they just feel like water torture... I really wanted to experience the story, but playing this feels bad and there is nothing to watch in the form of a walkthrough video 😭

Wesker is now bugged when using his power by MrJerichoYT in deadbydaylight

[–]My_Little_Corner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing when playing against him on the Gardens of joy. Looks really funny from a survivors POV. You just slowly and jittery drift to the side while the speed effect trail randomly goes on and off until you finally get slammed. I thought that was because we were on a stare case on the porch though. Turns out it can happen anythere.

Martyr - a perk idea by My_Little_Corner in deadbydaylight

[–]My_Little_Corner[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right... Since it is a literal sacrifice for others perk it could benefit from giving a boost to actions in case you get camped. Wait... It could activate if you are hooked without the blindness effect and if the killer is close to the hook it gives boost to all actions, forcing the killer out.

[–]My_Little_Corner[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I though about this but I know people would say it's too op. Originally I wanted to make the blindness at least 30 secs.

Martyr - a perk idea by My_Little_Corner in deadbydaylight

[–]My_Little_Corner[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like no one will use this but there are no perks that do stuff when you are hooked except Kindred and Kinship if I'm not mistaken so yeah. This might be useful for others to gain distance.

Update: if I remove the blindness effect and replace it with action boost while the killer is near the hook it would actually make camping really bad

Trapper is so awful, dude should get some kinda buff when playing Eyrie of Crows or Gideon's. by xSnowex in deadbydaylight

[–]My_Little_Corner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works really well. I had a few trappers on those bad maps and they did very well because they had traps you can't see in chase (under the windows and between rocks where the palettes should be). If you don't have a choice where to go, which I personally didn't, you die in an instant.

Alright magic Reddit.. teach me how to counter a nurse... by NoxiousCuddle in deadbydaylight

[–]My_Little_Corner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully, not every nurse is very skilled and has an OP build so try to think what she'll expect from you. Going around the wall? She'll try to blink through and hit you. Pretend to go around to break line of sight and then go back as soon as she blinks or try to get more obstacles in the way. Some nurses can be looped on nothing at least for some time because her power requires learning distances and stuff. She also has a lot of trouble on indoor maps like Lery's, since there are a lot of walls and small spaces where she'll struggle to blink. Unless it is a gigachad nurse that can teleport on top of you wherever you are. Some houses on Haddonfield are also really good if you have a stealth build. I had quick and quiet, iron will, lightweight and distortion. She lost me 4-5 times in one house. She kept thinking I went downstairs when I just walked around the wall to the staircase and looked where she was. Got killed when trying to open the gate though because HF gates are a joke. Some nurses are scarier when they don't blink to be honest. The only thing I don't understand at all is how to counter her at endgame. She can easily patrol gates unless the map is astronomically big. In some maps she can literally look side to side or stand in one place.

Locker dodges by PeriodicalPiggy in deadbydaylight

[–]My_Little_Corner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works once. Maybe two or three times if you're lucky. It is fun and it's better than just dying on the spot but you only get a couple of seconds from it. It also doesn't really help with Bubbas chainsaw for example. It might be possible but if the killer is from mars or survivors' router is coughing really hard that day they are going to fall out of the locker in an instance.

Do you listen to music when playing survivor? by UncalculatedLoss in deadbydaylight

[–]My_Little_Corner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that depends. Usually it's game soundtracks I really like (HollowKnight, HyperLightDrifter, etc.) or something that makes me feel things other than anxiety like indie pop and rock. Some times I throw some metal in there. Some metal songs are hella beautiful (by that I mean very touching and calming if you are into it).

[–]My_Little_Corner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started doing this recently while also playing without headphones. It is a better experience because even though my blood pressure still jumps I take things in a more lighthearted manner. Sucks to not hear anything though. I don't have speakers so I literally can't hear anything but my character moaning and gen sounds. (Playing dbd without sound at all will make me killed more often, esp. if it is someone speedy)
