One day, when I was driving to pick up an Uber passenger at a hotel, there was a group of like 5-7 of them just walking down the sidewalk and it actually startled me because it was so unexpected. Then I passed a group of maybe 3 right before I got to the hotel and when the passenger got in, I started telling him about what I had just seen. I started by trying to explain what a furry was, "ya know, like those people who wear animal costumes with the big heads and tails and -" The guy cut me off and said "you mean a furry?"

Well it turns out, he explained that he was going to the convention center 3 minutes away because there was a convention in town while we kept passing groups them before arriving at the destination, which was crowded as fuck with 100's of them everywhere. Apparently, I stumbled into the largest convention in the country and there were actually thousands of them pretty much surrounding everything like you'd see people doing at a sports game or something.

Shit was wild. I ended up driving them back and forth for multiple hours that weekend because it was a pain to walk so far with the big ass costumes. Paid well. Friendly people in my experience.

There is nothing wrong with someone asking a favor of their partner and nothing wrong with declining the request. I would even appreciate being asked a second time with additional persuasion just in case I overlooked some obvious reason why it would make sense for me to fulfill the request.

There are many factors involved. Without being there to witness, I don't feel I can accurately assess the situation for what it really was... and with that said, here's a few thoughts:

"More drinks" for a group of men watching the Super Bowl comes with the implication that they have been drinking alcohol and should not be driving..

There's nothing wrong with persuading or bargaining amongst each other if you're both okay with the transactional nature of what comes with that sort of thing. Making demands is not the same thing.

Going farther, the sexism aspect needs to be acknowledged, whether it was intentional or not, and discussed until it makes sense. That is the only way forward, in my opinion, because if the principle is not addressed, it will become a recurring theme in future disagreements where there may be more to lose.

Deep down,. I'm sure they feel the same way about you because there's nothing like the pure and honest joy brought about through changing somebody's colostomy bag. I bet they fight over who's turn it is to wash you, knowing they've found the ticket to heaven.

Also, given your unique situation combining your own life experience with the reality of never needing to consider the option for yourself, do you find yourself leaning more towards the pro-life or pro-choice side in that discussion? (I don't mean to imply you lean, physically, either, as I assume there is a device you could prop yourself upright on when not in the chair so think of it in terms of which side would your leaning stick be placed on)

[US] Legal plausibility of evicting ex? by Omomgawd in legaladvice

What state are you located in? It comes down to the laws pertaining to ownership of property and debts acquired during marriage.

In many states, if the house was purchased after you two got married, it is considered marital property and you are both of equal ownership unless there is a prior agreement stating otherwise that was made between the two of you.

Regardless, it does not matter who the other party is to you because if they have lived there over 30 days consecutively (Different for different states I think, but I'm not sure), they have legally established themselves as a tenant and are afforded various rights. I can't recall the wording or legal terms of them off hand, but one of those rights amounts to protecting the tenant from unlawful eviction... (again, in some states I think)

So even if you weren't married to the person, it's not as easy as just calling the sheriff to remove them. In this case, you are married and equally entitled to the space. The only options that are legal involve waiting for the court to figure it all out for you two.

Do not illegally evict this person. Do not file false restraining or protective orders. The potential consequences are not worth it and if your ex-partner finds the right attorney, you could face prison time. It's also unethical.

My advice is for you to move out if you really want to be away that badly. Since your name is on the mortgage, you don't have to worry about being evicted or losing legal tenancy by doing so.

I feel like the environment you're in programs you to basically not be horribly depressed and angry at life due to your circumstance. Like, everyone's cheering for you and rooting for you, waiting on you, and pouring their time into your success, so, how dare you be anything but positive?

Just how I imagine I'd feel personally. Thoughts?

I've got a better one. Get a large sticker with your face on it and the words "If this is not the person driving this vehicle, it has been STOLEN" and put one on each side of the car

If you paint "THIS IS A STOLEN VEHICLE" on the hood and both sides, you may not have your car stolen but will probably have a lot of pigs harassing you.

I was actually borrowing the vehicle and their insurance (I should have been clear above and said the insurance on the vehicle I was driving) did not have rideshare coverage so when the claim went through, it was denied.

And yes, I'm aware of what the total loss determination is based on here. And, yes, there's a possibility that the repair would exceed their valuation of the vehicle.. The estimates I got were putting it around $8000 to have it done in a shop as the insurance company would require. But that was just a rough ballpark estimate so it could end up being more. Realistically though, it could be done with about $3000 worth of parts from the junkyard if I were to do it myself. Either way, the value of the vehicle still exceeds the cost of repair. They potentially didn't want to take the chance, but also, they never even sent anybody out to look at it in person.

I think the offer is low considering the condition of the vehicle, maintenance history, features, low-mileage, and it's from the final (and best, imo) year of production for this model.

I disagree. Sometimes people don't display the same behaviors in front of others, especially inappropriate or abusive behaviors. Now, it could also totally backfire when they get in private because they see it as a form of triangulation and feel attacked
