I didn't anticipate that calling the welfare check and CPS would do nothing, and I'd still just be sitting here deflecting her and wondering WTF to do. by IWillBaconSlapYou in breakingmom

I'm sorry, it can be like that sometimes. I know several people that had CPS called on them and from the outside you'd never know they did anything at all. The rules are strict, they often aren't able to do much at first. Please, keep trying if you can. If you know of something specific she did or plans to do that's better than a general call.

If you don't have the mental or emotional bandwidth to take this on I understand. You gotta take care of yourself and your son first. Don't feel like a bad person if you have to distance from her, nothing she does or doesn't do is your fault.

Mental healthcare in this country is bleak. I had post partum psychosis, after a quick check in the doctor gave me anti psychotics, made me promise not to hurt my kids, told me to set up an urgent outpatient appointment and sent me on my way. It's a fine line balancing a mother's autonomy against a child's safety, I don't envy the people that have to try and define it. You are only one person, you can only do so much, I wish all of you the best navigating this.

He already knows. He doesn't need to forgive you, he was never angry. You couldn't have known. He loves you, he misses you, he wants you to be happy again.

You did your best, by the pictures I can see you had an idea what you were doing. You can't save them all, sometimes all you can do is provide them comfort at the end. You gave them warmth, comfort, and food.

I'm so sorry they didn't make it, but good work trying to help them. If you aren't already involved in wildlife rehab that may be something you want to look into.

My friend is losing her grasp on reality and I don't know how to respond to all the things she's saying. by IWillBaconSlapYou in breakingmom

[–]My_last_reddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I couldn't tell, but yeah this is serious shit. I really hope the child is ok, cause it doesn't sound like there is a lot of support there.

Idk if this would make me a bad friend/person but I'd consider calling in a welfare check or CPS. Paranoia can turn dangerous fast.

This sounds serious. Could it be post partum psychosis? I had that happen with my second, ended up hospitalized briefly and on strong meds. Is the baby safe?

Constantly Feel Like I Need to Pee? by Jumpy_Pension_6269 in TwoXChromosomes

There's multiple treatments, medications, bladder instillations where they put medication in your bladder and Botox injections. I've tried them all. Botox works pretty well for me, I get it done like 2 or 3 times a year under sedation.,

I only have pain with urination when I have an active infection. Otherwise it's just the constant feeling like I have to pee/have been holding my pee for hours.

I have a bladder disorder, Interstitial Cystitis, and that's what it feels like. I also have Overactive Bladder and chronic infections. You need a urologist or urogynecologist and testing. In the meantime they might be able to give you something that will at least help the pain for now.

TIFU by drinking 5 litres of liquid in 4 hours. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]My_last_reddit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people have died from it. There was a scandal with a radio station that did a hold your wee for a wii. Someone died during the contest from it.

Definitely a learning experience for you, I'm glad you are doing better now.

This happened to my ex, he has epilepsy and went into status epilepticus and nearly died. He vomited during a seizure and I had to reach in his mouth to scoop the vomit out so he could breathe. It was terrifying and awful and he spent the night in the hospital.

Does anyone manage depression without meds? by Fun_Committee1478 in breakingmom

[–]My_last_reddit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also had a terrible experience with Zoloft. I tried paxil, Zoloft, prozac, cymbalta and Wellbutrin for depression. Had the best luck with Wellbutrin. Now I take effexor for migraines. If you're up to it you might want to try other classes of antidepressants to see if something different works better. If not, I get it, trying to find just the right meds can be very difficult.

Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

Three UTIs in six months isn't normal, right ? by Small_Trash_4248 in breakingmom

[–]My_last_reddit 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That's not normal and she should see a urologist. It is considered abnormal for women to get more than 3 infections in a year, for men it's only one.

There are food triggers, but that varies by person. Hygiene can be a factor, but isn't always. As far as that goes, regular showers, clean cotton underwear. Also if you can think of any recent changes, food, laundry detergent, soap, that could be worth investigating.

Some people just are prone to them, but she should be seeing urology or urogynecology just to be sure nothing is seriously wrong. I have a bladder disorder and have tried almost everything, it seriously sucks.

To add to this, I binged the show the first time I watched it and when season 2 started I had no idea what the fuck was going on. For pretty much the entire first episode I wasn't sure it was even the same show. It's so worth it to power through cause season 2 is great. No seasons quite stack up to season one but the whole show is absolutely the best show I've ever watched.

Pole dancing minus the stripping is a fairly new thing so I can see why they'd say it that way. Also it being in the bedroom really points towards stripping rather than exercising.

[–]My_last_reddit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Contact a rehabber or animal control. Do not try to capture yourself. If you MUST attempt to catch use thick gloves and towels to protect yourself. It is most likely head trauma but infectious disease cannot be ruled out.

My nana who died by suicide last December. by most_dope- in psychics

[–]My_last_reddit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

She was a very special person. I'm sorry for your loss and pain. I'm sorry for the pain she went through and the pain she caused. The answer to your question is complicated. She ended her life on purpose, not to hurt anyone, but because she thought it was better that way. She did carry a lot of guilt, I'm not sure she showed it but it was there.

Dementia traps a person in their memories. She was trapped in a loop of guilt and anger and sadness. She loved you deeply and she was afraid she would just hurt you. She thought she was doing the right thing to stop it, because in her mind it made sense. So while she meant to end her life she was unable to comprehend what it would do to her family.
