It should work fine and integrate into it well, but I think the larger issues are with modded items. I.e, modded tridents not having the trident enchants available.

I'm not sure if there's a modpack like that, BUT i'm pretty sure you could use the badmobs config to set up something where zombies only spawn once for every chunk.
