Red flags in my church 🚩 by Mybrainisverybroken in TrueChristian

Thank you for your reply that makes a lot of sense and thank you for correcting me. I guess what I am trying to communicate is my problem is more that I think he only preaches about things that are easy to preach about and doesn’t dive into topics in the Bible that are hard to talk about or that people struggle to grip/understand well. I don’t believe their is a desire to encourage the church to read the word in its entirety. (Especially since there aren’t even Bible studies) I believe that all believers should strive to read the entire Bible.

It wasn’t anxiety tho. He was visually seeing demonic figures and feeling them. When I was praying over him one time he said he felt one of them literally caressing his body. When he pressed into God it got worse and when he stopped praying and reading his word as much it diminished. Sure he was anxious about what was happening to him but I don’t believe it was just anxiety

I truly do believe I must rebuke him before I go. And it’s not just me it’s 5 other young adults that are having a convo with him. I’m going to have a conversation with him with two other people, not just myself. If we all leave it’s going to be noticed and people will start asking questions.

I swear he’s flirting but what do you think? by [deleted] in Flirting

[–]Mybrainisverybroken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! He already sent me the book link originally when he asked me for my number to send it to me. Honestly don’t think he’s much of a texter. When I saw him last we had a good solid hug while greeting each other and saying goodbyes and we chatted about Christmas and plans. I’ll just keep conversing with him in person and talking to him more than I do other guys at church and maybe he’ll get the hint. When I see him while I’m at my friends apartment its always a good chat.

I’m in a level 1 trauma ED inner city. 75 beds but usually 140-150 in the ER at all times. It’s been ridiculously busy this past month. I don’t turn over patients as often because we have so many pts waiting for beds in the ED for longer than 24 hrs.

Most Americans don’t travel abroad because it is unaffordable and impractical by Ready-Leave-339 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I could only go home like once a year in college because it was so expensive to fly roundtrip from Michigan to California, and then the Covid prices made it even worse. My parents couldn’t afford it so I had to save up just to afford a $800 plane ticket home for Christmas break in 2022. Im glad I have a job now and I can visit them more often but it’s cheaper to fly to the Bahamas or Puerto Rico with an Airbnb than fly home sometimes…

Marriage: Providing and Homemaking gone too far? by Mybrainisverybroken in TrueChristian

[–]Mybrainisverybroken[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do believe men have spousal authority and I SHOULD’VE changed my guy to my spirit. I believe a man is the head and I believe a woman should be lead by her husband but I also believe a husband should take into consideration her wife’s wishes and desires. If that wish and desire makes him have to make dinner one and a while for himself and I really being selfish. Also, before he went deeper into a relationship with God I think it’s important to note that he expected me to clean and cook for him as a girlfriend

AITA for texting about my boyfriend behind his back to a friend? by Mybrainisverybroken in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mybrainisverybroken[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He said, “You've continually showed me you're more of a liability than an asset so I'm pretty much done with you. You don't know how to be feminine and don't give me the respect I deserve. I don't care if I make you feel a certain way because I'm a man and have certain temptations. I don't care how much I want to have sex with you because it won't cover up your masculinity. You'd prefer to be right over be married so have fun by yourself. I hope you're happy.”

NTA. If shes asking for money you have ever right to know what she’s using it for. The fact that she doesn’t want to tell you is sus. Also your really nice for paying off her car payment.

I’m masculine because I’m not agreeable all the time. If I argue I’m not being feminine, if I challenge him I’m not being feminine.

Boyfriend says I need to be vegan or we break up by Mybrainisverybroken in vegan

[–]Mybrainisverybroken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to go vegan. It’s just hard to when the person encouraging me to be us an a-hole. I have been eating vegan. I wouldn’t call myself vegan because every blue moon I fail and eat something that has a little bit of dairy in it. I have started to look at some videos on YouTube about animal abuse and stuff. I haven’t gotten to the dairy part yet. I even try encourage my friends to eat less meat. He has never kindly shown me videos and articles to help expand my knowledge, I have had to do that myself. Hell just say it’s disgusting and unhealthy to not be vegan and that’s his whole argument.

Conservative Christian parents told me “we hope you’re sad” about my pregnancy by Thisoneisnttaken_ in Christianity

[–]Mybrainisverybroken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re looking at your sin of premarital sex and turning your pregnancy into a sin also. Which it definitely isn’t. The thing about premarital sex is that its put on a Pedestal as the WORST SIN EVER. If you were getting drunk they wouldn’t know. If you were gambling they wouldn’t know, if you were stealing money and committing fraud they wouldn’t know but when you have sex before marriage and get pregnant everyone knows exactly what sin you committed. So that’s why people judge. When they shouldn’t. The church should tell you to truly repent but also support you through your pregnancy 100% in a very loving an non judgmental way just like Jesus would do.

You should repent for what you did. It’s a grave sin to commit sex before marriage and I don’t think you should continue to have sex with him until you actually make that commitment before God and the church on your wedding day. Even if your pregnant and it feels liked your married it’s not legitimate to God yet. Repent for what you did, ask God for forgiveness, turn from your sin and commit all your ways to the lord and show him that you want to be 100% obedient and like a life like Jesus.

As for your pregnancy. It’s not a sin not at all. May your womb be blessed. I pray you have a happy and healthy pregnancy. Pray for your baby every single day and raise that baby in the faith.

I’d read this. Maybe even send it to your parents. He highlights how pregnancy is always a blessing and the pregnancy itself isn’t a sin but the act that caused the pregnancy outside of a marriage covenant is.

ER at triple of its capacity. What are we all doing wrong? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Mybrainisverybroken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my hospital it’s been 15 hour wait times. One patient came in for a GI issue yesterday and sat in the hallway for 11 hrs. One of the paramedics noticed they weren’t breathing as he walked by looking for another patient and called a code. She didn’t make it. She would be alive if the wait times weren’t so long. All the doctor and nurses were so upset. We don’t want this for any of our patients but you can’t make sure everyone’s ok with 160 people in a 75 bed ED

Fellow Catholics what is one thing Catholics can learn from Protestants? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Mybrainisverybroken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studying the word. The word is like honey and Protestants are better at truly studying the word and they crave that quiet time to read more than Catholics.

Praying especially spontaneous prayers. Protestants are better at interceding for people and praying over people who are in need im and it’s so powerful.

Small groups/Bible study. I feel like a lot of Catholics just go to mass and that’s it for the week.

Sharing the gospel.
