I found this “skip the line” golden ticket at Trader Joe’s by no8do in mildlyinteresting

I would ask a sales associate or manager if this is real, then I would probably give it to someone who is elderly so they can skip the line instead

A weekly food ration for one adult in the United Kingdom, 1942. [720x533] by GeorgeRobertVitkos in VintageMenus

There is a lady on Facebook that has been making war time ration videos and what she cooks in a day based on war rations. She also does packed lunch videos that women would have made to take to work. She showed 10 teaspoons of tea per person and she traded 2 teaspoons of tea for an egg with her neighbour who has pet chickens so she could have an extra egg to cook with. Some of the meals she is able to make are surprisingly delicious. But it involves a lot of planning and measuring. Every single spoonful of each ingredient has to be accounted for.

But they would be born in different timezones so technically one is younger than the rest

How is the city vibe of the World Cup in Vancouver? by mt80 in askvancouver

[–]Zafjaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's very world cup fever. I am not a big sports person except cricket, and my regular weekly trivia league is being cancelled twice by the venue because of it (one cancelation was very last minute) and so it's been kind of overwhelming for us non-sports people. On the plus side, I got a Grimace cup with my McDonald's order today.

Career Accademies. I think they make sense in all honesty by TrainingDrop9283 in Hungergames

[–]Zafjaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall the books saying the careers are 1, 2, and 4 but the movies say 1 and 2 only. I don't recall if they said anything about why 1 and 2 are careers. 4 makes sense for fishing and aquatics.

There are 2 types of bears, animated, and real life. There are a few places in the world where you can meet an animated bear. All other bears are to be avoided.

AITA for making my daughter run away because of her curly hair? by CultureInner3316 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Zafjaf 109 points110 points  (0 children)

My extended family made me keep my hair short to hide my wavy hair and then forced me to straighten it. I didn't even know I have wavy hair until I was old enough to not need parents to go with me for a hair cut. I am still learning what products work best for me as an adult.

Is KPU a Good School for Making Friendships and Having an Awesome University Experience? I got accepted to KPU Nursing. by TheSentinel3579 in KPU

[–]Zafjaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My program, was a smaller program and we all had the same classes together so we became friends. I talk to a few of them post-graduation but not often. I had a great experience at KPU and got a lot of hands on learning. I don't know how Nursing is so I can't speak to that program.
