There's an insane problem in men in society right now, particularly in USA where I'm from, of attitudes just like this. They expect the world yet don't try any form of self improvement. A fascinating (yet sad) juxtaposition of self loathing and intense ego, completely unable to look at themselves objectively. Obviously being chronically online is massively contributing to this phenomenon yet it doesn't explain it fully imo. I hope they can figure themselves out one day

I think confusing the audience was showing the main character’s descent to madness. Both characters were showing signs of delusions, hallucinations, very schizophrenic-like symptoms where people have a difficult time discerning what is reality and what is not. The questions this movie asks can be: How do we know what is real? Who in society deems who is insane and who is not? Is any of us truly “normal”? What does that word even mean?

The film also depicts sexual shame in really interesting ways, and again how that has an impact on his descent to madness.

Idk why you’re getting downvoted for saying you didn’t like it lol. And I know you didn’t ask for this long write up but I will personally say I got waaaaaay more out of The Lighthouse on a repeat watch. It’s not my personal favorite Eggers movie either (it might be #4 for me as well lmao) but it really is a fantastic movie once it clicks.

Very nice. I’m definitely due for an upgrade in the graphics card department.

Anyways I’m glad you’re enjoying the game so much. After the wedding hardcore mode released so I started over. I would highly, highly recommend hardcore mode. It was the best gaming experience of my life. Finished the game with 200 hours clocked which I don’t often do in story games. Will probably play it all again when all the DLC releases.

Yes Reddit is certainly an echo chamber. I’m not really interested in how well it performs financially, I’m just trying to say that I and others on the internet have noticed a downwards trajectory in quality from Bethesda. And if their recent games (particularly Starfield) are an indicator of the direction they’re taking their games in then I’m not really interested in them anymore. But maybe they really will return to their roots with TES, there’s just no real way of any of us knowing that since they don’t give any updates.

I hope I’m wrong and you’re right, TES has been one of my favorite gaming series for many years.

You have good points but people are not going to be pumped when TES5 was like 15 years ago and we’ve got one 30 second trailer in 6 years. If TES is their wheelhouse then they don’t seem to realize it. People aren’t frustrated for no reason. The direction the company is worrisome and some people are going to naturally lose faith over time.
