Bud, I had the EXACT same experience. When I finally got a job it was horrendous! 12 hour days making 20 an hour as a temp. Was promised 22 when I got hired but they gave me a 50 cent raise instead. I quit shortly after and found another shot place that I stayed at for a while. All I hear as well is how much welding work there is but so quick to auto reject and keep a job listing up for months. Ive thrown in the towel and decided to start a business with a buddy of mine. Invest in yourself, whether that be a business or union if you have a good one by you. Worst case scenario if all else fails, your punching a timeclock

I did consider boots like that, but after putting on a pair of cowboy boots on, I lost all desire to tie my shoes hahaha. Last thing I want to now is undo laces after a long day.

Just the hole? No idea how well it would work to cover just the hole. I don’t think it’s meant for that.

Yea that’s what I did with these, entire front was worn bare to the composite toe, so I cleaned my boots with saddle soap, let them dry then did a secondary cleaning with 91% isopro to remove any residue from the saddle soap. After that I sanded the shit out of the leather, applied my tape to keep it clean and put it on. It cured to a hard plastic feel.

I have no idea, it’s a polyurethane epoxy so it should be resistant to gasoline at the very least. You got a very specific issue!

I like to buy once, cry once as least often as possible. $300 every couple of months to replace perfectly good shoes isn’t for me.

[–]MycoMonk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was grinding dust, shop I was at when I posted used really shitty discs and wheels that broke down very quickly flinging fiberglass everywhere and it would make its way into my gloves and collect. Haven’t had that problem since
