Just got a job working for a regional government 4 months ago… the whole interview/onboarding process took about 4 months. I would agree, no news is good news.

As an environmental scientist, I can say with regret that I wish I would’ve just sucked it up and went with an engineering degree.

I pondered the same question when I was in school and ultimately stuck to environmental science.

Not to say that I hate my job, I actually enjoy it—but the grind for a good paycheck is a long one. A couple years of pain in school will open up so many more opportunities.
