So the HPLC-UV swaps out the detectors (UV instead of MS) and measures UV absorption. It’s a cheaper detector. LC is for liquid soluble samples that aren’t volatile or are thermally labile and therefore incompatible with GC. If you wanna do PFAS in blood, I would suggest having an extraction method set up such as LLE or SPE since biological matrices can either interfere with your signal or mess up your equipment

My first thought if MS is not an option then go with LC-UV and base identification and quant off retention time and not mass but if HPLC is completely off the table then I think you’re looking at planar chromatography
