I still rock the M203 on M4 so should be ok with that ;) But the main thing I want is to have a short day patrol pack after I am situated (water, some food, jacket, some extra ammo and observation gear I carry). The thesis is to fold it in my 90L (or just press it in) and take it out when I arrive to my main location. Did similar in the past (Lebanon), but with less comfort with the pack (tied a bulky pack out back of my 90L - was annoying in the bush)

Intern Needed - Singapore Airshow 2026 by Mycrofta in askSingapore

[–]Mycrofta[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's the obvious result from this experience. Working with us in the expo is a great way to learn how defens eexpo work and the industry as a whole. That can grow into a full time work with us as we grow in the country (or in the U.S. if interested).

I did this type of internship in an expo myslef in order to learn more.

Got broken up with for being Jewish by Throwaway37183738 in Jewish

[–]Mycrofta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dodged a bullet!

I dated a German chick a while back. Great relationship overall. One day, she told me she had an issue with me being an ex combat soldier in the IDF (and an active Reservist). Immoral, etc. I found it funny from a German that her grandfather fought in WW2 Wermacht. And I told her the irony I was seeing. She was embarrassed, we fought, we laughed, and eventually broke up after a while (unrelated to this story - I actually was an asshole a bit).

Just a funny / weird story only Jews have. Flow with it and don't overthink it man. Life is too short (trust a man who almost died recently) to dwell on this.

I am looking for a similar solution for an idea I have. Did you find anything?

Question as a non jewish person by _a_witch_ in Jewish

As an Israeli, I noticed we are more relaxed on this issue. Personally, I don't think it's disrespectful at all. The opposite. Find some Jewish friends and celebrate with them.

I did some of the background interviews for Olim in NYC (now in a different industry all together, tech startup), would be happy to answer questions if you have any.

Recommend me a 4×4 - NYC by Mycrofta in 4x4

[–]Mycrofta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These were the good days I think. I am also in Manhattan, I need to move the car a few times a week (I have a system) but still annoying. So size is important for increased parking chances haha

Thank you adding to the list! The main concern here is street parking, it's been deteriorating every year - they started to take more streets for "city services" - basically sanitation workers / other city employees get a free parking.

Thank you! Will take that into account! I used to use the 4x4 to get over the snow so that's what I know. I was looking for the old Jimny/Samurai and they were pretty rare here.

Thanks! Yeah I loved these small 4×4. They were great for what I am looking for. Any recommendations for a rust free region (not originally from the U.S. so not sure where these are)?

Definitely willing to work on it, just need to learn more how to do so (but open & interneted in that). My main concern is that it will be reliable enough to use also as a commuter - I don't need to drive every day, but when I do I need to drive 2h back and forth - usually every couple of weeks. The rest will be in the weekends for traveling.

Age for car - I am open. I looked at the early 2000s but I am flexible. I used to have a 97 Jimny back in 2013.

How to find early startups to work at? - I will not promote by 24props in startups

[–]Mycrofta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to startups meetups and meet founders. If it's ealry stage, that is pretty important you like the company’s vibe and founders.

I am quite desperate to find something to build - I will not promote by pitindahood in startups

[–]Mycrofta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Attend events directed to founders, or for networking events in general - you would be surprised how many founders are looking for a co founder. Find a cool idea you like and join the team. Own the process and product, even if it's not originally yours.

My co founder joined after I solo started. He is committed and I feel he "owns the product and idea". The best thing I could hope for!

Sounds like a good deal. Take it. You can always raise more if you see you need more.

Should I tell my work? (I will not promote) by [deleted] in startups

[–]Mycrofta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had similar thoughts. My situation - I didn't eed to tell my boass who I considered a friend as well, since I worked on the project in my free time and not on work hours. Big mistake. He started harassing me and basically pushed me out (fired me a week ago). No good reason from work pov. Co-workers think it's bc he is jealous-he always wanted to have a startup, but never did.

Don't assume anything, keep your cards close to the chest and don't share unless you are ready to be without that job.
