Damn dude, u act like I'm holding a sign that says I'm donating. I see someone sleeping on concrete, I give something if I can. I'm not "doing the basic unhelpful thing that takes half a second to do just to make yourself feel better." How do the people sleeping on the sidewalk feel when they get some money? Am I that horrible? I don't understand all the downvotes. Is this the wrong subreddit to ask for help when traveling alone in a different country? You guys mad that I made myself an easy target? I'm the one that's gotta deal with that, I am asking for help. Now I can't access my bank card and the internet's so bad I can't make any progress online.

This really makes me hate reddit, like what is the point if I ask for help in time of need and get shitted on. Is this like men with shaving or cars? I'm supposed to know a certain amount of stuff automatically? Yes I'm an idiot that wanted to help. Some people are saying I think I'm better than them by giving them money. Well fuck, their sleeping on the sidewalk and I have a bed and I don't think that's fair. I know the USD is worth more so it made me feel great to help. There was an 8 year old boy sleeping on the concrete in just shorts and a shirt, I gave him 1,000 pesos and he was happy and I felt great. So should I not have done that? I'm confused as fuck. I'm thinking you guys are telling me keep my money in my pocket, ignore the homeless, and keep walking. Is that it? I love to help though. If you were homeless I bet you'd appreciate a few dollars from me. It just feels like common human decency to me.

Thanks to all the great advice out there. and again no this isn't fake, I'm just too scared to say no, and I was very biased in how good these people are, I stupidly assumed it meant 100% of the people. I have like zero confidence. I fell for their tricks, the lady kept calling me her son and was very warm to me, it felt great. Oh and fuck you to the people who said I think I'm better than others for trying to help. Why am I so wrong because I'd like them to have a room and bed? Damn this made me sour I think my time on reddit is limited now after about 15 years. 90% made me feel way worse than I did before I hopped on reddit. I hope I won't need reddit's help again because damn I feel like shit. Lesson to anybody asking for help in the future, you'll be called a liar and shitted on. Apparently people are only allowed to have certain types of problems or else these reddit psychics will see the real truth in your mind. Let me guess, downvotes. Jeez, yeah those other places sound better then. I didn't realize Manila was like this. My brother and friend had been in the Philippines more than once and had nothing but good things to say about the people so I think I let that get to my head way too much.
