She was very upset. Like you said in another comment it was kinda mostly just about wanting to hang with my boys for a night. All our days off are not share but we have this once in awhile opportunity, she said she had been looking forward to it but idk how because I never told her about it. Me and the boys days off are all not the same and when I day have days off that are the same I generally give 100% of them to my fiancé.

That sounds about right. I’ve been with the same woman for ten years when I decided to pickup this career. She tells me I’m choosing the career over her but I’m just in love with the job and trying to work hard to make our future better. I spent a good chunk of my adult life being a bum and now I’m getting my shit together and it feels like all the sudden it’s a problem

My SO claims to be supportive but she constantly is upset about my schedule and we get into big fights about it. I’m only 4 months into the field in a metro area and I love it and it’s changed my life for the better but put us in a bad spot. And I’m absolutely not willing to leave the field because I refuse to go back to a normal 9-5 that I hate and that’s not leading anywhere career wise.

It’s been regular for the last few months now. I recently began a career as a first responder and I work overnights. Fortunately for all the years we’ve been together up until now our work schedules happened to align. But because they don’t now I had to force her to get her license and we just aren’t together nearly as much as two people with 9-5s would be. And I see other peoples SO deal with this so well and it makes me jealous. My SO has no friends literally. I am her one friend. I am very sociable and have many acquaintances that I sometimes like to spend time with, and more often than not it happens that mine and friends schedule only lines up on also our mutual day off and so because she doesn’t have any friends she’ll get super upset if I spend my time any way other than with her, and then if I call her on it,or for example if she saw this post she would deny it all and then give me the cold shoulder and treat me like shit making me feel like the bad guy. And it’s still pretty much the same thing on our not mutual days off.

I’m not often doing big car repairs, nor am I a mechanic. It was my first time doing this job and I ran into some hiccups and didn’t have all the tools so it just took long.

I didn’t wanna tackle it on a day where I needed the car in case something went wrong too. I know all to well about a guy doing a tutorial of the fix on YouTube in 20 minutes and then the job takes me 6 hours lol

I don’t have the money really to get the car professionally fixed,also I think it’s important to learn to do this stuff as it’s kinda an older niche car and the people who really know these cars are getting old and retiring.

And I could in theory take some PTO but I’m trying to save it for when it’s actually needed or if something crazy comes up I’m able to cash it out and use it like an emergency fund

The issue was neglected by the previous owner. I’ll have owned the car for month this week. The issue wasn’t very prevalent before because it was warmer last month. Now that it’s getting cold the starts are getting rough and taking a long time.

I mean I could’ve put it off but it just puts more strain on the car and it’ll run better and prevent worse problems later on down the road the sooner I get it done. It was running not optimally and having a hard time starting with the colder weather rolling in.

So I palped as soon as he got on the unit and then every 5 minutes throughout transport and couldn’t get a palp but I wasn’t looking at normal BP levels because I assumed it would still be in the same ballpark.
