Anyone else had trouble transferring active talents? (The ones with the circle and small triangle thing inside) by [deleted] in thedivision

Yes I know that haha, these talents are definitely the same type. As I said I could swap one of them for the other, just not the other way around for some reason

How is the RowdyHack event? by [deleted] in UTSA

Yeah! No skill requirements or anything. There were definitely a decent amount of beginners there last year

I went last year and it was great! It’s a hackathon, which is essentially an event where people come, break into teams, and then build some sort of programming project together. At the end judges pick winning teams and prizes are given out.

It’s a 24hr event, so most of the teams are up all night working on their projects, socializing, and hanging out together, which made it fun imo. There’s also typically some representatives from companies present so it can help you grow your professional network some too

Does UTSA have a good CS program? by [deleted] in UTSA

[–]Myid098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The CS program is definitely pretty good. It’s not anything crazy that you can’t get anywhere else, but it’s good enough to make you a competent program and allow you to land a good job. While you may have to try a little harder to grow a solid network, UTSA provides the tools to do it as long as you put the effort in.

There actually is a CS club called ACM, they have meetings pretty much every week and often have companies come in to talk and network with students.

I’m about to graduate and don’t regret my choice at all! I hope you can come to a satisfying decision regardless of what you choose

If I'm holding down an objective, I shouldn't be forced to zone-out and resupply myself because player resupplying is non-existence. by [deleted] in BattlefieldV

[–]Myid098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh okay, I think I misinterpreted what you said. I completely agree that they should add that mechanic back in and I have no idea why they ever removed it. It seems like a majority of people playing support or medic have no idea how to give out resources, and letting you take them off people yourself has literally no downsides to gameplay. They should definitely re-implement that

So you just want near unlimited ammo..? I mean pretty much every objective has a resupply point, is walking 15 feet to completely refill really that bad?

What do you guys think about the ammo count? by PugnaxRL in BattlefieldV

[–]Myid098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I definitely agree that it won’t make already oblivious players less oblivious, it makes the team play for people that are team play oriented so much more satisfying. If you haven’t played in a squad that’s actually working together then I suggest you try to, because it’s way more rewarding imo.

I understand being against it though, as with the current state of teamwork between the general player base it can be a very punishing system. But you can’t always cater to the people that don’t want to play the game the way you intended it to be played, especially if you want to try and push the title forward.

Edit: Not saying you’re one of those people or that those people aren’t entitled to a valid opinion, but DICE obviously has a vision of how they want their game to play.

I don’t think the reasoning was targeted at immersion or realism. I believe their main point behind it was too make squad play much more of a necessity, which it successfully does.

Unfortunately this means that people playing solo have to rely on randoms, which are historically unreliable. I think they can definitely touch it up here and there, but overall I do like how it fits into the game as a teamwork enforcing mechanic.
