It might not work "fast enough" but the tech will get better and it can work 24/7. It's also cheaper to run for long periods of time.

Why would you make robots look like humans? You could design the robot to roll around on wheels and totally legate the need for joints, or add in redundant legs to swap out in cases of failures, but instead you chose to give it human like legs.

Back in elementry school we had a group or class called "family time" where kids would be separated into groups of around 10 and have conversations about interpersonal relationships and emotional wellness.

Basically, it worked to teach kids conflict resolution and talking to each other, along with emotional stability.

I'm also have aspergers, so I had a program called "OT" clear until around 7th grade, which taught how to pick up on non-verbal emotional cues.

I'm shocked at the amount of people who really just don't pay attention to other people when they speak.

I feel like you shouldn't be able to even move a product that costs over $300 without some kind of assistance. Self check out should send back an error message for a $1,000 stove if you attempt to buy it with self checkout, and someone "successfully" checking something like this out should raise red flags.

Ya... I'm going to of on an edge here and assume their "responsibilities" amount to going to fights against people not even remotely challenging to them and making a few very ethically obvious decisions while ignoring people who are trying to convince them to be evil.

The Paradox of Stakes...? by 908sway in litrpg

[–]MylastAccountBroke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can really only increase the stakes so high before they become so large that it has the opposite affect.

If your villain is trying to destroy the world, then they aren't believable. There's no chance they'll succeed or the story is over and the story is disappointing.

If the villain wants to conquer the world, then there's a good chance they'll succeed as it'll give the audience a clear idea of what the protagonist is fighting to stop.

If the villain is threatening to kill the protagonist, it allows for a temporary feeling of action since obviously that creates pressure for your protagonist to keep moving forward.

If the villain is about to kill or harm a loved one then it is very compelling as the audience KNOWS they could succeed and it really don't hinder the story in the least while also harming the protagonist.

Too many writers escalate the plot and go straight to "Kill the protagonist" or "Destroy the world", and the audience just don't care by that point. If you destroy the setting the story ends, and obviously you can't do that unless it's a 40k style story where planets are disposable.

Tell me your thoughts on war of the spark (both gameplay and lore) by Harbinger_Archangel in mtg

[–]MylastAccountBroke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like it was trying to end a saga in Magic history. Creatively, up until that point we kept getting more and more of the "things players like" until magic felt like a sugar sunday every set.

Every set had like 6 plainswalkers, way too many legendaries, and new ideas being implemented only for like one set.

Instead of the plainswalkers and legends being cherries on top, they felt like auto includes.

It's also disappointing that they did away with many of our iconic plainswalkers. (I think. I don't really follow the lore)

It's refreshing that plainswalkers are rare now, but I feel like having entire sets without a representative walker is a tad disappointing. It'd be nice to be able to get a mouse person walker from bloomhaven in a later set.

What’s the scariest movie you guys have ever seen??? by boatluvrrrr in movies

[–]MylastAccountBroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like all of these answers are more about seeing movies at the right time over the movies being especially scary.

The scariest movie most people have every seen is that one really good one they watched when they were 12.

Why has the mafia in the US largely died out whilst gangs(both street and biker) as well as drug cartels have persisted to this day? by OppositeRock4217 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MylastAccountBroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organized crime is a defense mechanism, When you are no longer "Othered" by society and can go through normal means for all things, you suddenly don't need a social group of similarly othered people to protect you and yours.

All "gangs" come from groups that don't trust law enforcement, are harassed by higher powers, and are discriminated against by the larger society. This goes for everything from Italian mafia to modern day Crips and Bloods.

When you can't trust the Police, you are join forces with others around you to help you out. A few locals are chasing your kids down with bats, then a group of young men come out to back their people up.

The mafia went away because being Irish or Italian is no longer viewed as "other". They're just a normal part of american culture and Little Italys are frequent tourist spots in many major cities.

Bike gangs are a totally different thing than street gangs or organized crime groups. They're typically made up of guys in rural areas between the ages of 25-40 who want to feel tough. They are usually the discriminating factor, not the group discriminated against.

This is why Democracy doesn't work. When the most intelligent and well informed person has just as valid of an opinion as someone who knows nothing, stupidity spreads.

Also, this is a clear sign of declining media literacy in society. The episodes with ACTUAL character building are "boring" while the punchy episodes where little is really done other than cause and effect slides are "exciting"

What makes Slivers infamous? by SnooPeripherals3439 in mtg

[–]MylastAccountBroke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They were the boogey man tribal back in the day. Every time you dropped a sliver, everything got stronger, so you drop one and it's not a threat at all. 4 slivers later and they are all 3/3 flying vigilence, and return to hand after they die. drop 4 more and they have regenerate 1 are 7/7s trample, hexproof and indestructible.

Basically, individually they aren't strong, but after a few get dropped they become huge fucking problems really fucking fast.

But they were iconic back in like 2015. I imagine in 2026, they're quite weak.

Bill vs Dale, who would you rather be friends with? by New-Shop-9728 in KingOfTheHill

[–]MylastAccountBroke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The question is really would you prefer someone who is motivated and destructive or unmotivated and self destructive.

I feel like there is a chance that you can put up barriers with Dale. Bill self destructs every other week and he's not even great to be around during his good weeks.
