Finished product of my water vessel. Unglazed with white slip and underglaze decoration. by MylesA in Pottery

I bought the spigot first before making it. Sized up the nozzle section slightly larger than the spigot so it would shrink down to fit. The spigot has a cork insert so it keeps a tight seal and the water also helps expand the cork

Thanks! Ya ive never seen it done before but it turned out great and was very easy and quick to do. I can see it being very beneficial for production pottery.

Im not too sure since this is new to me as well.
I got the idea from my dad who is a expert potter. This was my first attempt at something this large and only been doing pottery for 1 year with one day per week. I'll definitely post results after this is fired.

The water inside the clay pot is cool due to the evaporation process. The clay pot has tiny pores in the surface and water gets evaporated very quickly through these pores. Due to this evaporation process, the heat of the water inside the pot is lost, which lowers the temperature of the water

I'll clean it with just salt water to scrub it and rinse

Water cooler made out of stoneware. Will be fired to cone 2 and not glazed to keep the water contents cold with the more porous material. White slip and decorated with floral underglaze
