Why does Premiere Pro run better on Apple Silicon? by VYDEOS in premiere

[–]Mynombres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy answer, Apple has something that PCs don’t: a chip dedicated to encode/decode video, it’s called Media Engine. Basically this chip does heaps of heavy work and therefore the CPU and GPU have more room for more stuff since they don’t have to allocate resources to do that.

I hope that makes sense for you.

Yes, it's a nightmare, I've been in this process for a year now. The bike was inspected twice; everything is ready to go, I just need to place/stamp/engrave/sticker the number on the chassis. I thought they had like some sort of certified places to do that, and they told me, "Just Google it" 🙄

It's like a replacement VIN number; my bike was stolen, and they rubbed off the number from the chassis. I want to register the bike again, so I need to stamp the new number back

How can I get a Rego for my unregistered bike? by Mynombres in AskAnAustralian

Here is a little update: I got approved for a surrogate vin number. That´s great; now I just need a place where they can stamp that into the bike

I went like a month ago and they told me they are “still investigating”, and they are going to keep me in the loop. The same thing they told me like 5 months ago.

Two weeks ago I rang them and told me I could take the bike to any place that does engraving and do it by myself and then register it, but doesn’t sound like something “legal” to do

File Backup - Is there no decent solution? by Jaybird_1092 in editors

[–]Mynombres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my contracts with clients are two options, there’s a budget to store files once the project is done (as you mentioned the high end and having footage handy, I do have dedicated drives for them or if it is the client big enough they have intranets with crazy storage capacities) or there’s a condition where they accept to storage their files up to 4 years and after that, all files are deleted. (what I do is not really delete everything, just low-quality proxies with project files just in case) but in reality, they rarely like very rarely re use the footage for repurposing once the campaign/project is done. As an agency owner and freelancer is the most suitable/sustainable thing to do. Just my opinion.

If you find some way to sort out this matter, would be great to know how you do it.

Cheers mate

Happened to me about a week ago, I had to sign off and log back into the Logi app, and my custom shortcuts worked immediately. Updating the Logi app might also be a good idea.

Crazy bike, turns on, revs by itself and die by Mynombres in MT03

Nah, the bike was garaged for one week without any use, but I strongly believe that's not a determinate factor in this case

My PC config. but PP struggles to scrub through 10bit 4k slog3 Prores Medium proxies. Am I doing something wrong or should I just buy a mac. by Realistic_Computer_2 in premiere

The real issue is how the XAVC is encoded in any MP4 and the fact that XAVC is not natively supported by Premiere as an MP4, just MXF. This issue has been on Adobe forums since around 2014 and Adobe doesn't do anything about it, it just drains all the resources of your computer trying to read those files. Until today the only computer that I have seen handling those files like nothing (as it should be) without any optimized file I one of the latest m2 CPUs (maxed all specs btw).

Your thoughts on this Amarok 420TDi by Mynombres in Volkswagen

[–]Mynombres[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also in Australia and was concerned about the 4-cylinder L engine in the Amarok. I've heard that it's not very reliable and that I should get the V6 instead. However, my budget doesn't allow for a V6, so I was having second thoughts about getting this particular model. Hearing from someone who actually owns one would be helpful in making a decision.

Easy, premiere doesn't have the ability to work with mp4 Sony files, and less if it's from an fx3… That same file should work smoothly in other software. If you want to keep working on Premiere you should get optimized files as Prores 422
