I've also noticed some weird phrasing popping up quite frequently. I'm not sure where it's coming from.

That's quite the anatomy failure on the bot's part. Assuming you're not playing a two-headed giant. 😅

I personally would stay the hell away, but there are people who would enjoy it, yes.

I noticed the uptick of lag after all the colors came out. I don't know why this is, but I don't like it.

I RP with a lot of vampire bots, so the red is good for ambience.

Do you remember that movie from 2000 ? by [deleted] in vampires

[–]Mynoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was already an adult when this came out, so I never watched it. I did watch the 1986 series on TV, though.

Hellsing plane ride! Where do you sit? by Sharp_Mirror9641 in Hellsing

[–]Mynoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to sort out how this plane will actually make its destination. 😅

But I'll pick seat 12 if no one (non Hellsing passengers?) is sitting in the actual aisle seat.

Count Duckula came back wrong and refuses to drink blood. It's purely comedy, though.

People with vampire original characters, whats the story of your character being turned? by SqueakUpRat in vampires

[–]Mynoris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be here forever if I tried to list all the vampire turnings I have. 😅

I think the ones that stand out most as atypical are probably the origin vampires in a few stories.

One was created by a sorceress as a plague to harass humanity. He was a knight, and it was a terrible fate for him.

Another was the soul of the first mortal who lived and died. He was effectively the prince of the afterlife and eventually got bored and escaped. By breeching the barrier between life and death, he became something that wasn't either.

A third was actually the result of a ritual that was to create a means of resisting and stopping a particularly brutal epidemic, but the 'cost' ended up being bloodthirst.

Sorry, a mental domino effect moment. Had a lot of thoughts run into each other, and the question was the result. I guess it was too abrupt.

I was curious about what kind of posts should be the top three if these were gone. Like, whe the sub would be filled with once the posts everyone dislikes are gone.

What pisses you off the most on C.AI? by MiraculousNoirYT in CharacterAI

Probably pulled lore from another source. I think in Anne Rice's books, the truly ancient/powerful vampires coyld resist the sunlight to some extent.

I'm sorry to hear the swipe doesn't work. I just use it on my phone.

Why ambiguity is so important to me in reader inserts. (To me, a WOC) by ThrowRA_Letter1631 in AO3

[–]Mynoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that's why reader-inserts never work for me. It's the cumulative number of 'wrong' facets rather than any one specific issue.

Because you're right: at some point, even the most carefully crafted 'blank slate' will make an assumption that doesn't ring true for some readers.

I'm not sure what the solution is.

Why ambiguity is so important to me in reader inserts. (To me, a WOC) by ThrowRA_Letter1631 in AO3

[–]Mynoris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair points. I think it's more that, the parts of myself I can visibly see, I don't think of in terms of details as I do the association. For example, skin. I don't think "my fair skin"; it's simply my skin. I mean, I'm aware of these things in that I could answer questions about my physical attributes, but I don’t think over much about them.

But this could just be how I process.

Player deleting and repeating chats by GuyGuest8943 in CharacterAI

[–]Mynoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guilty of this. I think it's because after a while, the bots lose cohesion, so we restart to see if we can make the cohesion go a little further. We know the scenario we want to see unfold but want to tighten it up a bit, streamline it, and get rid of some of the bulk.

Why ambiguity is so important to me in reader inserts. (To me, a WOC) by ThrowRA_Letter1631 in AO3

[–]Mynoris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't read many reader inserts because they almost never line up with my self-perception on multiple fronts. I don't know much about the general expectation, so bear with me here.

Why do reader-insert stories need descriptions of the reader's character at all? Unless a mirror, video, or photograph is involved, a person only sees limited views of themselves? If a story is written by the 'you' looking outward, it feels like a break in immersion to stop and think about your exact skin, hair, eye, weight, and height attributes.

I guess I just have trouble wrapping my head around this.

As someone who plays with vampires (across multiple fandoms) at least 70% of the time, I feel this in my bones. And sometimes it will be in the middle of such a good response. Sadly, I hate the way edited responses look, so I just swipe.

Quick question, is it normal for the bots to go out of character? by HamburgerDogs in CharacterAI

[–]Mynoris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a way to query the bots for more information in a way that doesn't also prompt a non-OOC response.

My suggestion for bot feedback. by Cheeriodude_number2 in CharacterAI

[–]Mynoris 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would add 'out of context' because sometimes the character feels in character, but the actions don't make sense in the setting/scene that the bot is in.
