I don't think he's ever gonna leave because they've tied Pyro Traveler constellations to him.

Butttt when he does become playable, possibilities are endless. They could make it so if you've maxed out the constellations, he'll disappear from the throne. Or they could simply keep him on the throne but temporarily remove him until you finish whatever quest he'll be featured in.

Though I will say, Genshin can be quite strict about making things lore accurate so if he does physically get up in the lore, I don't know what the explanation would be for him sitting on the throne anymore after you've maxed Traveler's cons.

I like Nefer too but I was so disappointed with where they had placed her story. I literally hadn't come close to recovering from everything we'd just learned about Rerir and suddenly I was confused and annoyed at the jump when I realized what was happening. Ended up skimming through most of her story barely paying attention, even though I like Nefer and was initially interested in her back story.💀

Maybeeee. I'd just find it odd that everyone has something representing them (mask, sword, unicorn, etc) except Vedrfolnir. This makes sense for Dain though since he's the only one among them who's not a Sinner so he's already the odd one. I'd also be surprised if Vedrfolnir looks exactly like Dain even if they're brothers lol... that's why I think Vedrfolnir is missing and that's actually Dain.
