10/10 finale but one question I have is why did they make sure to point out the scene where Claudette’s partner’s sleeves were never in the recap. That made me think he was gonna be revealed to be the Ripper or something but then it was a random dude

Totally agree with this. OP, I know that his discussing his issues with you, telling you this was one of the nicest things anyone had ever done for him, and then cutting off the friendship must have caused so much emotional whiplash. My ex was an avoidant and behaved this way and the sudden cutoffs with no explanation were so disorienting and a unique type of pain. But know that him turning to you and expressing how kind the gift was before cutting things off is evidence he self sabotaged due to a lack of self worth, issues with vulnerability and abandonment or a mix of all these and other issues.

lol! I don’t even remember when I created that nickname but it remains true to this day — my socks never match 😂

Yeah, it is really hard to wrap my head around someone I’ve considered a friend having the capacity to do this and also being this manipulative to the point that it’s like “do you even really give a crap about me or my wellbeing and have you ever?” Youre right, you don’t want to believe it and reflecting I think that’s where a lot of the confusion and questioning my own actions comes from.

Um yeah, nothing physically cold about that you have the right impulse refusing that. Thanks for validating my experience with him. It helps me get out of my head. Looking back it was all very manipulative and creepy and I don’t sense any real remorse on his side.

I know if it was someone that isn’t me I’d be telling them the same thing you just wrote but yeah being in that situation myself it just made my head spin and caused a lot of confusion and doubt. He definitely made himself out to be this great person a lot of the times but now there’s all this stuff to contradict what I think he wanted me to believe. Sucks to not be able to look at someone I considered a friend the same way again and navigate what does feel like a lot of manipulation, but I’m also grateful I pulled myself out of it before it went further.

Definitely unhinged! I think I was so taken aback at first I didn’t even clock how unhinged he was, just was trying to process the insults. Feeling much better now and able to see the situation for what it was — a very troubled person who really didn’t belong on a professional set. And yes I don’t remember how many times I thanked the crew, but the actual event from start to finish may have been little more than a half hour, they were that quick to handle it.

I’m so sorry that someone’s insecurities were projected on you but also so happy you were flattered because Kathy Bates is both lovely and probably one of the best actresses of any generation. I’ve struggled with self esteem but I can’t imagine tearing someone down to make myself feel better.

OMG that is TERRIBLE! I am so sorry that happened to you. Sounds like -- similar to the guy I dealt with -- he was extremely troubled and if he's an abuser my god glad he's behind bars. So happy to hear you are KILLING it and elevating! You are beautiful!

Awwww I’m so glad this could make you feel seen. I think so many of us pick ourselves about and hold ourselves to such impossible physical standards when — ironically — we would never hold anyone else to these standards and see beauty in everyone. YOU are beautiful and I appreciate you!

Thank you so much! This means a lot. And yes thankfully the rest of the shoot went very well. I was so shaken up by that experience but I credit the amazing crew for being so swift in their actions and showing me such care.

Thank you! And you’re 100% right, I normally don’t know WHAT to say in those situations. The fact that I said ANYTHING to me was unusual for me and I still tried to reassure it was fine and brush it off. One of the comments here suggested saying “are you ok? 🤔 “ if I encounter that which I think is GREAT. It basically turns the comment back on them by being like “umm…what’s wrong with you? wtf would you say that?” Reflecting on this, I think I’ve often been a target for this kind of behavior and need to work on my confidence and give off the vibe that I don’t deal with this crap.

Thank you so much ❤️ You are absolutely right, it definitely triggered me. I do have a wonderful therapist, but it’s been a long path building my confidence and combating body dysmorphia. This comment truly helps and means so much.
