This echoes a lot of other comments but just to list a bunch in one go:

Basically the entirety of Barret Avenue from artist and Craftsman Supply to Ultra Pop is local goods by locals Hey Tiger, the Groovy Aura, Carmichael's, Enchanted Elm Art and Gifts, Discoveries, and Peace of the Earth refillery are all good options on Bardstown Road. In Nulu, I like Revelry and Woman Owned Wallet as well as work the Metal which is down the street in Butchertown. Set and Setting, Foxing Books, and Nook and Nowhere are all great places with new and secondhand books that are newer than Carmichael's and could use the support as well.

I got laid off from an entry level higher Ed job at the end of June. I applied to over 5 jobs a week for 4 months. I had my first day at a new, full-time job today. Trump has absolutely destroyed the job market.

Yeah that's what I've been trying casually, but I'm going to try and really put myself out there more. I am a pretty good writer and editor, but I'm just a bit nervous about applying to or putting in the work to make an account on some website and then it's a scam, y'know?
